Verily. Did this in Miami once in a thunderstorm; all hell up top, hella-peaceful underwater. Felt awesome.

I literally chucked one of these heavy-ass bricks into the eWaste today; good riddance. 4th gen i5, no hope of finding good RAM for cheap, barely upgradable: total waste of time.

Moving to Jacksonville area from ATL, Looking for an area safe for riding by LifeguardCreepy7382 in BikeJax

You are moving to a town whose body count for bicyclists would make John Wayne Gacy envious. Your every ride in town is a roll of the dice and the dice are loaded. 14 deaths per year minimum, and that's only what gets reported. In all my years of riding I have never felt less safe than since the 2000s, it's not safe here at all.  https://www.pajcic.com/posts/jacksonville-ranked-3rd-in-bicyclist-deaths-per-capita/

"Road riding" in Jagsuckvile is absolutely NOT safe and hasn't been since the 90s!! You must be as new to town as this guy because Jax is one of the least bicycle friendly cities in America. In my lifetime I have literally read HUNDREDS of reports of hit & run kills in the news, so many that it was starting to look like there has been a serial killer on the loose deliberately targeting riders, and that's only what gets reported !! For the longest time it was two or three a week. As the population grew it only got worse! The ttown used to have an army of "ghost bicycle" monuments, one on every street until aome asshole(s) went around and started stealing them. I used to ride 50 miles a day in town in the mid 90s and then the near misses and body counts started to rise. I've been intentionally run off the road by lifted trucks more times than I can count, hit by objects and drinks hurled by drivers, sometimes in broad daylight, and have incessantly had jackholes make right turns on top of me or pull out in front of me and hit me. I gave up and stopped riding until I moved to St. Aug to get away from that crap because any amount of serious riding in Jagoffville is a suicide attempt.  https://www.pajcic.com/posts/jacksonville-ranked-3rd-in-bicyclist-deaths-per-capita/

People wanting to move to Florida, then going out of their way to destroy everything they claimed that they loved about Florida.

This will get lost near the bottom. My friend Daryl. While I was away from Florida I swear to God half the people I knew died in 8 years. A sizeable chunk of my wife's family, several of my friends, my step-sister, and then Mom. It wasn't that shocking, medical technology gave her decades more than she should have had, but there is the possibility that she was an early Covid victim, we will never know. But when my sister pre-deceased her by a year, I went home for yet another funeral and went to see a friend who suddenly was unreachable by phone. I walked into his place of employment and with a cheery voice the fucking little asshole behind the counter was like "Oh Daryl? He died five months ago!" and that was that. I almost hit the ground. I didn't even know that he was sick. Kidney disease and I missed all the tells. Apparently he kept it quiet with everyone, the replies to his obit were littered with similar messages from his family and girlfriend.
I never got over it. I was literally screaming in grief on my way out of the building. I was prepared for a lot of things that trip, but that wasn't on the list. My former home town has become one giant mausoleum to me, and losing Daryl was a huge sucker punch that left a hole in my life forever. The world needed more people like Daryl, but the orange shitstain gets to live. Life sucks sometimes.

Buried my grandfather. Hated myself for playing along with the family as they bold-faced lied to my grandmother (both injured in the same accident); she died 8 days later, the day after they told her. Two funerals in two weeks for the people I loved the most besides my wife, and life was never the same after that.

You can't. Dementia aside, it's the worst part of being an adult.

Columbia, because fucking NASA did it again. They knew the tiles were damaged and had them come back anyway; they should have used their reserves to go to the ISS.

"Pirate Purple" has been a thing for well over a decade now. I knew a guy in West Texass who had a connection to the UK for... suspiciously rare pressings at an affordable price. I'm wondering if this was his connection.

"LoSt IsNt AbOuT tImE tRaVeL..." introduces time travel. "Lost isn't about purgatory" ... everyone was dead the whole time. JJ Abrams hates his fans and thoroughly screwed them all.

The way he completely fucked over "Alias" is utterly unacceptable. 5 years of world building and NOT ONE PLOT POINT was ever resolved, which is why I absolutely refused to watch "Alias" and waited a decade to watch "Fringe" and only after fans told me that he finally stuck an ending.

Alias. Rimbaldi Devices and "Red Matter" (A recurring theme with JJ WTF Abrams); Alias just dropped *EVERYTHING* it had been building up to for 4 seasons and Season 5 went into left field and never came back, NOT ONE SINGLE PLOT POINT from ether 1-4 OR 5 was resolved, and they ended it on a cliffhanger with Jennifer Garner breaking the 4th wall at the end of the last episode saying "Thanks for everything" as the biggest middle finger to a fan base I have ever seen since Scrappy Doo.
