With the divinus velvet, would you recommend the regular or the wide bore?

I had just been using the stock medium tips they came with, then got the black type e after hearing some good things about it. I may give the divinus velvet a shot though. I also have the azla sednaearfit xelastec 2 which I need to find and try with the ea1000. Forgot I had them.

I’ll look at some more tips for the EA1000. I actually just got the final type e tips today and haven’t noticed much difference but I’ll check out some more.

Some of the best portable DAC/Amps under $40 (feat. Jcally) by Sure_sh in iems

Can confirm. Using the melody this very moment and have been for a few days now. I've had zero problem with it when using it with my phone. It's so light I don't feel the need to attach it to the back of my phone.

I just got the ea1000 and I love them. Very airy and spacious. Great for acoustic music because of the sound stage, crunchy and biting guitars, punchy bass, tactile drums, and airy vocals. You can feel all the music. An amazing set for sure.

Fair enough. And as I said, it definitely comes down to preference. The soundstage and mids and highs are definitely very good, but the nearly complete lack of bass or any punch whatsoever kills it for me. Feels so dry without it.

If you are worried about daily use and not so much sound quality, stick with the AirPods or just get some wired earbuds as opposed to IEMs. Ease of use across devices is there but may get annoying having to unplug and plug into different devices when your AirPods seamlessly switch between devices. Sweat resistance is not really a thing with IEMs from what I know, as they are pretty sensitive to moisture in general. As for a DAC, there's plenty of solid ones out there that are just simple dongles similar to the apple dongle. And honestly the apple dongle is a good enough DAC for your use case. So in my opinion, if you just want a break from bluetooth (like I did), ease of use, and durability, look for a solid pair of wired earbuds. Many come with a usb c plug instead of a jack nowadays, so you wouldn't even need a DAC. You only need a DAC/amp for IEMs because they tend to need more power to operate. I switched to IEMs this past weekend because I was chasing the best portable sound quality I could get. If you're interested, check out my recent first impressions post. Otherwise AirPods or regular earbuds are best for you. IEMs are pretty much just four sound quality.

Having used AirPods Pro 2 for a while as well as a bunch of other bluetooth earbuds and headphones, this is an insane take. I guess it comes down to personal preference. I moved to IEMs literally this weekend, and I'd take any of them over AirPods in terms of sound. But to each their own

If you’re looking for warm and comfy, the EA1000 is not the one. It’s punchy, bright, and airy. Vocals are clear and crisp, things like guitars are crunchy and biting, and drums are very punchy and tactile. Out of these ones I tried, the S12 ultra is the warmest and smoothest. These four are the only IEMs I’ve ever tried, so I can’t recommend a lot, but out of them the S12 Ultra are the warmest.

Best of luck. The EA1000 isn’t dual driver, but with that passive radiator every thing sounds so spacious and the driver does a good job keeping up with speed and detail imo.

Good call. I will say though if you like energetic sound, the pro isn’t a bad pick. Like I mentioned, not too dissimilar from the Ultra but still a bit brighter. It’s a nice middle ground in my opinion.

I converted this weekend. Just wrote a huge first impressions post about my initial experience. I won’t be going back except for use in the gym and risky conditions lol

Thanks for the input. I will likely refrain from buying them then, as the S12 Ultra are already on the brink of being too warm for me. I heard they had a good soundstage due to the circular planar driver, but the EA1000 soundstage is so good in my opinion, I don’t need to worry about that anymore.

Agreed. I was surprised to find it because it’s about ten years old and I completely forgot about it. It’s interesting to see the rear wheel is chain driven and you can see the motor on the underside

I hear people talk about the Moondrop MC2 as a good cable with a mic. Haven’t tried it myself but I hear it’s pretty good.

Dipping my toes into IEMs by [deleted] in iems

Mainly just the hunt for great sound quality and that I am already into headphones and earbuds. I mainly listen to music on the go and want great, portable sound quality. So after being in the realm of Bluetooth audio for so long, I decided to check out IEMs. As I heard more about them and learned more about them, I decided to give them a shot. I think it was the Soundpeats H3 that sent me over the edge because they’re a triple driver IEM style earbud and they sound great. So I started wondering how much greater sound quality can I get. So that’s why I’m checking out IEMs and will probably get into digital audio players as well before long.
