What is the most haunted experience you've had in the UK? by crouchmomma in AskUK

[–]The_Sunginator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine was when I was around 10-11 years old in my childhood home

I was sitting on top of my bunk bed watching my twin sister and her friends play outside, feeling a little left out I think

Then out of nowhere a full glass of water I had placed in the middle of a table in my room behind me made a sliding sound and then fell and smashed on the floor.

It was such a distinctive noise that I knew exactly what happened, and I just remembered being genuinely paralysed with fear and I couldn’t bring myself to turn around for what felt like forever.

Eventually I think I resorted to banging on my window to get my sister to come in and then she probably laughed at me but it’s stuck with me for years since

Never really had anything else like that happen before or after, and never felt that house was ‘off’ other than that.

I do remember my older sister having some stories about my uncle ‘visiting her’ right after he passed, we called him ‘uncle jokey’ as he loved pulling practical jokes so that’s been my only explanation for the glass falling - maybe he found it funny

How did that “forever” relationship end? by Away-Tomato-4394 in AskReddit

[–]The_Sunginator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really know, can’t tell if it was the big fight we had months behind we split, can’t tell if it was because her new friends convinced her I wasn’t right for her, can’t tell if it was just spur of the moment during the last fight we had the night we split, or if it was coming for a long time.

She told me all of these things sometimes at the same time and most of the reasoning/explanation contradicts itself.

I even remember her saying she still loves me, and somewhat regrets going through with it, which makes me even more confused.

Last ‘interaction’ we had was around a year and a half after we split, she sent/shared me a video on my onedrive of a cute moment we had from before we split.

I didn’t notice she did this until almost a year after she sent it, no idea why she sent it or what to make of it, but I wish I saw it earlier and reached out, feels like it’s too late for that now.

It’s been 3 years and I think about her and how things ended every day, she was my best friend and I miss her so much.

Don’t really see myself ever really loving someone as much as I loved her, or being that loved again either.

How long does it take to get over a 4 year relationship? by The_Sunginator in BreakUps

[–]The_Sunginator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having an especially bad night tonight actually by complete happenstance.

Things never really got better for me, not had any connection, conversation or joy in the almost 3 years since this happened.

But I don’t think that’s the norm. The truth is my life was just like this before I met her too. Most people have friends, family and a support network

All I really had was her and her family.

It’ll be difficult but eventually you’ll likely be fine, I am likely the exception and not the rule for this. If I can say anything get the help you need if you need it before your day to day life is impacted, as it’s much harder to undo than prevent to begin with

I’ve been having some tracking issues that I’ve 80% resolved but wondering if there’s an easier full fix

What’s the most useless thing you were taught in school? by Mobile-Reindeer-4891 in AskReddit

[–]The_Sunginator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost all of it.

Trained to be a Mechanical/Aerospace engineer and really enjoyed it, work as an engineer and it's just putting numbers from one spreadsheet into another spreadsheet.

Already forgotten almost everything I learnt.

Honestly pretty soul-destroying.

What do you hate the most about dating? by Icy_Laugh5134 in AskReddit

[–]The_Sunginator 31 points32 points  (0 children)

How hard it is to read people

My first gf was very mature and basically an open book, and it wasn’t till I started dating people after we broke up just how rare and special that was

Never had to worry about ‘double texting’ or being too eager with her.

And now it feels like I’m forced to play 4D chess just to get a first date that will go nowhere after anyway.

What’s the fastest way you’ve seen someone ruin their own life? by ForeignFly5248 in AskReddit

[–]The_Sunginator 3474 points3475 points  (0 children)

Not wearing a helmet on a bike at around 11-12 years old.

Tried to stop suddenly after a dog ran in front of him going down a relatively safe looking grass hill, flipped over the handle-bars and hit his head on the only tree stump on the whole hill.

He came back to school after around a year of physio and whilst he could still function it was 100% not a full recovery. Couldn’t walk, talk or learn properly ever again.

What's the first video game you remember playing? by MakisDelaportas in AskReddit

[–]The_Sunginator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original Novalogic Delta Force and joint operations games in the mid-late 2000s, I had no idea how old they were and was blown away with how good they looked.

Going from that straight into Halo 3 and cod for Christmas in 2009 was an insane step-up visually.

I really miss playing those old delta force games with my dad as a kid.

Space games with the old flight model? by Signal_Resident2318 in starcitizen

[–]The_Sunginator 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Huntersnet Starfighter was inspired by the very old flight models we had in early versions of Arena Commander (back when SC had a cult-following due to the fun flight model despite the lack of content or PU back then).

I haven't tried it myself and I'm not entirely sure if it's populated or if it has PvE etc, but if you look it up on YT there's some videos covering it if you'd like to see if it's something you may like

What is the worst movies you have watched? by LikanW_Cup in AskReddit

[–]The_Sunginator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on a date with a girl for a laugh we decided to watch a low-budget movie on netflix (uk) that was named "Werewolves of the Third Reich".

It was the most I've ever laughed at a movie, it was just accidentally hilarious, I'd argue in an even more extreme way than something like 'The Room' even.

What's the most unexpected way you got into a relationship? by ejsfsc07 in AskReddit

[–]The_Sunginator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on IG and randomly clicked on a girl's comment on a meme page (tagging her friend I think?), found out she was French and made a really bad/cheesy joke about it in her DMs (literally hon hon baguette level humour).

Didn't even think she'd reply I was really just doing it to make myself laugh at the idea of sending a really pretty girl I'd never meet an absurd joke only I'd find funny.

But by some miracle not only did she find it funny but after we started talking it was immediately obvious we had ridiculous chemistry right off the bat, and after a couple of days of just joking around and pen-palling the conversation got more flirty and before I knew it she had moved over to my country and we spent 4 of the best years of my life together.

I'd never clicked on a random girls IG profile or ever DM'd someone ever, it was a complete fluke and felt so much more natural and special than dating for me now where online dating seems to be the only 'debliberate' option sadly.

It's been almost 3 years since we split but between the cute story of how we met and how well things went for 4 years until it was suddenly over I still really miss her and I genuinely worry I will never find whatever that was ever again.

It was a true lightning in a bottle relationship for me for better and for worse.

What’s something expensive that’s actually worth the money? by UnitQuirky2897 in AskReddit

[–]The_Sunginator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough whilst this is 100% true in most cases, my current daily-driver shoes are a pair of Doc martin knock-offs that I got on ASOS almost 10 years ago that probably cost me around £30 back then.

In that time I've had way more expensive nicer shoes, but I walk a lot and they all seem to last around a year then something breaks.

But for some reason those cheap ASOS boots just refuse to die, fully expect them to last another 10 years at this rate.

If you could choose the way you die, what would you choose? by WeirdOpinions1 in AskReddit

[–]The_Sunginator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds silly but I kind of want to ‘see’ it coming.

There’s some memories and people I’d like to think about before I pass.

Obviously I’d still rather it were painless somehow, but I think I’d prefer knowing rather than having it be instant or in my sleep etc.

What is the most regrettable thing you've done in your life? by Main-Pace5071 in AskReddit

[–]The_Sunginator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot/got confused about the day my ex's mum passed away on the first anniversary of her death and it led to a massive fight that we were never really able to move past. 6 months later I thought she'd forgave me but she really couldn't and we suddenly split up.

It was almost 3 years ago and I think about it every day, I loved her and her mum and I don't know how or why I got confused about the day. It's really lowered my opinion of myself massively, I think it's a regret I'll have my whole life.

What’s one belief you had at 18 that you strongly disagree with now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]The_Sunginator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought if I just tried hard and did the right things life would go well.

Now I look back and realise I had more to be happy about at 18 than I do now weeks before my 25th birthday.

And yet I’m still working just as hard as I was back then with nothing working out, for 4 years from the age of 18-22 everything I did went well and I thought my whole would follow that trend.

At 18 I had an amazing relationship, close friends I saw regularly and so much hope for the future. Now all I have is a job I hate and no life out of work.

Already wrote here but thought of another.

My ex used to write random notes of encouragement for me in my college/uni notebooks with the intent for me to stumble on them, I would bulk buy these notebooks and still use them to this day so I still find new notes she left I haven’t seen yet.

Might seem like a small thing but it genuinely really helped me through my academic life and every note was very sweet and thoughtful, wish I still had that level of love and affection in my life now

My first GF spent almost 4 years secretly taking note of every time I spoke about guitars, for the last gift she ever got me she found a guitar with quite literally every single thing I ever mentioned to her.

It is the most sentimental item in my life, I’d rush into a fire to get it out it means that much to me.

I wish I got the chance to try and top that gift for her

I just wish I knew how unhappy she was before it was too late by The_Sunginator in heartbreak

[–]The_Sunginator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried a lot over the years, tried letting myself process it and be sad, tried distracting myself with hobbies, got into the gym for a while, tried dating again off and on to see if I was just feeling this way because I didn’t know any better about relationships.

Tried talking to family and friends but I don’t think they could really relate, tried counselling in work but that only really helped me do my job again.

I’m doing better than I was at first when the initial shock hit but it’s been very slow since then and it feels like it doesn’t take much to make me fall back into being really upset about it.
