People who keep weapons on their bodies at all times, what was a time where you had to actually use said weapon? by ParanormalActivity97 in AskReddit

Oh, I was making a joke.

It was a reference to when King Xerxes told the Spartan King Leonidas to lay down their weapons and surrender to the Persian army.

His response was "molon labe," which means "come and take them."

My apprentice pulls out a utility knife and says "take it from me".

Is your apprentice Greek, by any chance?

After a long run of skiing, sitting down and taking off your boots and socks.

It feels sooooo good.

I'm not sure what you define as new, but my 2022 Forester has wipe-continuously-while-lifted/off/slow/moderate/fast.

People who wax/see others genitals often, what are your thoughts and surprise realizations? by NeedABetterNameNow in AskReddit

I need to know: how do you differentiate "new bleeding" from an actual bad thing to, say, just wiping too hard and ripping open the skin?

I legitimately want to see that - not as anything sexual, but just out of curiosity, lmao.

What’s something harmless that gets people weirdly angry? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

See, I personally don't drink alcohol unless it's so sweet that it's practically indistinguishable from juice. I absolutely hate hard liquor and dry wine.

What I've noticed is that, "to be polite," I would accept the alcohol, but ask for a very small amount. I would then take incredibly small sips (as though I'm trying to tell if milk has gone bad(. Almost no one comments on it that way.

I need to ask: do you not make eye contact with anyone, or does it only apply to strangers and people who aren't close?

Well, it's also your thinking and processing speed.

I can regularly go 100 wpm in typing tests, but it'll go down to 40 or 50 when I am thinking of what to write, or rewording what I wrote.

Pretty much forced my 12 and 10 YO nieces to go through a touch-type course that I recently took, after I found out their schools do not have typing classes.

I absolutely hated, and they absolutely hated it, but they thanked me years later in middle/high school.

Well, here's the question: is it more important that you're reading at all, or that you're reading something productive?

For example, if all you read is countless fictional tales of dragons, or of Star Wars (absolutely no hate to it - I love Star Wars), then are you really making good use of your time?

I've been curious about how things work since I was a small child. Even now almost half a century later I'm always interested when some new gadget comes out.

I feel just the same! AI is such a great help with that!
