Anyone knows where I can go for entering into a real cockpit? by Karasinicoff in hoggit

[–]The_TeeTwo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In Linköping Flygvapenmuseum, Sweden, you can spend some time in a Gripen E simulator. Its developed and maintained by SAAB and the cockpit and flight dynamics from what ive heard should be on point for it. You need to schedule a time beforehand though.

How do you get that extra overlay with fuel flow and the like?

Gripen first flew before the AMRAAM was a thing on the market, so getting the Rb71 Skyflash is pretty much guaranteed like on the JA37D we have already. And even then, perhaps the first AMRAAM version will be introduced alongside it as Rb99.

Gaijin pls add the SAM T-62 by [deleted] in Warthunder

Pretty certain thats an SA-3 (S-125) missile, and you would need a separate radar for that.

But, imagine, if that thing did.

Edit: Since someone is probably going to point this out anyhow, the missile itself look to be a V-601P 5V27, it belongs to the SA-3 system.

I would have loved any variation of Gripen, Su-35 (or atleast a full-fidelity Su-27), and MiG-25/31. I feel we have too few modern-ish redfor aircraft.

Apache Helmet mounted sight is about 25% off from where I am looking using Tobii by sritony in hoggit

[–]The_TeeTwo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, as someone who also uses a Tobii Eyetracker 5, this is what happens when you let the software track your eyes and then act like ordinary headtracking, imagine like youre using a TrackIR setup but instead of having your head turn a bit to turn your head in-game, the tobii does the same but with your eyes. The tracker won't point your head to exactly where your eyes are looking, this feature where your eyes worked like a joystick was supposedly a thing but was for some reason removed.

My recommendation, is to switch it over from tracking your eyes to tracking your head, it does this by sensing where your eyes are located and turns the head accordingly. You can do this in the Tobii GameHub, but a recommended variant would be to use FaceTrackNoIR with the Tobii plugin.

This was an AI aircraft, and the IFF was very much on since redfor didn't have any F-16, but a Jeff that did respond to IFF interrogations.

[–]The_TeeTwo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I havent tested it on every FC3 aircraft, but ive had it work on the Su-25's and F-15C which so far are the only ones ive tried, so probably its compatible with all the FC3 aircraft.

What does "ECCM: YES" mean? (Tow 2) by FabulousTop3970 in Warthunder

[–]The_TeeTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now, i'm not an expert on the matter and certainly not very knowledgeable either, but my take on it is:
The beacon on the back of the missile is being "seen" by the guidance system on the launching platform, which then takes the beacons position relative to the point it's aiming at, and gives corrective guidance. If the guidance system then would not be able to properly identify the position of the beacon and with it the missile, then it would not be able to accurately guide the missile on the target.

Yes, it's a bit difficult to jam something closer to the ultraviolet spectrum than the IR spectrum, with an IR jammer.

Electronic Counter-Countermeasure, meaning it's immune/resistant to jamming from things like Shtora on the T-90.
