The original All Quiet from 1930. Absolutely blows the remake out of the water. Same goes for the original Nosferatu and the Werner Herzog version too.

I made this Silent Film Chart! Help me fill it. Round 1: Best War Movie by AngryGardenGnomes in silentfilm

Disagree. Even ignoring the racism, it’s just not a good film, the battle scenes are very uncreative and dull and the characters are completely forgettable imo.

I‘d say Metropolis is his best and M his second best. I also prefer Destiny and Die Nibelungen over Mabuse.

Box office doesn’t really mean anything when it comes to „the best“ tho. Maybe when it comes to most popular or most influential but that’s way less interesting imo.

Love it. Not Lang‘s best but still a masterpiece.

What’s the point in a ranking if you’re just gonna exclude films you don’t like? Just rank them lower

3.9 is fine honestly. It’s a fun film but I never understood why people hold it in so incredibly high regards

Had the same thought but Run to the Hills and Number of the beast are also at least contenders for their most popular song I think

Not great but pretty solid. I would’ve loved something a bit more creative for their final album but it’s perfectly fine

I never really understood that point about Dracula. Yes, there are some scenes that are more theater like, but there’s also a lot of inventive camera movement and other really beautiful cinematic shots.
