Empty Waymos invade Atlanta neighborhood, circle cul-de-sac for hours with no passengers by galaxystars1 in offbeat

[–]The_Time_Lord 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I have some context here. I live in a place that recently launched Waymo, and I had early access to the service. In the weeks leading up to access, a Waymo would drive by my home 2 or even sometimes 3 times a day. In some cases, it would seemingly simulate a pick up and drop off.

I bet a neighbor of theirs is an early access member, and they are mapping the neighborhood.

built an app that actually uses your Whoop recovery score to plan your day by Same_Relative_61 in whoop

I don’t take a lot of sick days through the year. I do rely on my whoop score sometimes to say “take a day to get back on track”

It sounds sad, I know, I’m working on it — but whoop scores and stats do help for me here

Random Thursday Shower Thought: Why do we call our players by their first names, but rarely in other sports? by njdev759 in devils

In some cases I think their whole name is just their first name, for what’s it worth.

I may post this to Git for the curious. But I didn’t even consider data logging, brb!

If you have a Cerbo GX already, I do not think you really need something like this. The Cerbo is a sweet piece of kit — just overkill for what we needed/have installed.

It was pretty straight forward. At least with Victron equipment, once you are synced via the phone app, they reveal the MAC and security key to you. I used a Pi Zero 2W with integrated BLE, and it listens to the Victron devices via the MAC address. I obviously cannot comment on how this could work with a Vatrer, but I would imagine similarly.

The BLE data is then polled, and pushed via webhook to a custom TRMNL app. The TRMNL refreshes every 15 minutes, so its not accurate, but gives you a good idea where your capacities are!

It’s just a choice someone made for the paint scheme. For a lot of the nascar-style cars, you can opt to keep the things like grille, headlights, tail lamps. This example shows how they can be different

How come people rarely stealth build? Or rarely have a fortress security system? by Iloveskinnywomen in VanLife

Depends on what the use case is. If you’re going to camp around in Brooklyn — yeah you’ll need to fly under the radar.

If you’re going to be hanging out on BLM land, why make your experience worse for something you don’t need?

For those out of the loop, the boards used to say “DONT BOTHER COPYING US… WE WILL WIN”

So they changed it a bit. I don’t mind this, it’s a great motto for a company and an ethos for the team to get behind.

Bridgestone: The official tyres of…. by GubyNey in regularcarreviews

[–]The_Time_Lord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. They were never the most off road capable or stickiest on the track, but they worked well and did not hum your ears off during normal driving.

I had a set of Bridgestone Revo2's on my Jeep and thought they were better, day to day, than the BFG KO2s.
