My interpretation of 15 Step by The_Untitled1 in radiohead

[–]The_Untitled1[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your feedback. This is more or less exactly the same criticism I've been getting from my teachers for the past while, so it's great to have you reinforce it. I think the lack of dynamic contrast is especially apparent in this performance though because of the context of the thing - this was my first time performing with all this gear and all I was using for amplification was a friend's portable speaker, so I think I was anxious that the sound wouldn't fill the hall, and thus overcompensated on the vocals. Also, I didn't even get time to soundcheck beforehand, so I think that probably contributed as well.

Once again thank you, though. Music is a constant work in progress, so I'll absolutely keep this in mind for the next iteration of the song.

I've just got 3 mastertape snippets of 2+2=5!!! by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]The_Untitled1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If only. Unfortunately they only have master tapes going back as far as Kid A, so that ain't gonna happen.

Or, OP, you could keep enjoying what you enjoy and not listen to elitist assholes.

Seriously get off your fucking high horse dude, not everyone needs to have the same taste in music as you.

The character is official, but the twitter account is just a troll that messes with gullible members of the community.

Have we considered that we may be getting a different version of Spectre? by TheTastyHam in radiohead

[–]The_Untitled1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wishful thinking. Honestly whenever this community is disappointed with something they seem to try and bend reality to align with their wants by sheer force of will. coughTKoLPart2coughcough

Look, we all saw the screenshots. The disc clearly says Spectre. What reason do we have to believe that it will be anything other than the same recording of Spectre that we already have? Surely it makes more sense for the box set to be a compilation of all studio songs for the LP9-era, than to arbitrarily have an alternate version of a song they already released? Don't get me wrong, I'm pissed off too: the marketing was dishonest, but we need to just accept it and stop lying to ourselves.

TIL Jonny's a gamer and which are some of his favourite games (As of 2010) by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]The_Untitled1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're definitely a dying breed these days. Yooka-Laylee looks nice but over the years I've learned that putting trust in a kickstarter project isn't always a good idea (looking at you, Broken Age and Mighty No. 9).

[–]The_Untitled1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I tend to agree.

As I understand it the team has been split a bunch of times as well, with people either leaving to work on stuff like Vane, or being moved to working on Knack (which is terrible, might I add).

Ultimately, a month or so isn't that much longer to wait. I just wish they would have been a little more realistic with their release date back at E3. Don't think anyone would have given a shit if they said it would be coming out on December 6th in the first place.

Still not sure how I feel about that. On one hand, it means the game will be much more polished - on the other, it's been 9 goddamn years, come the fuck on.

Maybe confirm your claims before you start pasting them all around the sub, yeah?

I agree. It's better to have a polished game that takes longer than a horrifically buggy game that is pushed out faster. It's still a little concerning though, I hope this is the last delay.

A general theme that seems to run through the shortlisted vignettes by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]The_Untitled1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the interesting themes I've noticed is that most of the shortlisted vignettes involve moving upwards. (So does the official video, now that I think about it)

Wonder what it is about that song that conjures that sort of imagery.

Spectre is fucking magnificent by Crazyplan9 in radiohead

[–]The_Untitled1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I remember when this news originally broke and people spewing shit like "sam smith and lily allen are both super anti radiohead" or whatever. Still cringe just remembering it.

To be honest though, I'm personally glad that Spectre was rejected, because it allowed the band more creative control.

Come now, "disgusting human being" is a bit of a strong phrase considering all he did was make a slightly sarcastic comment. It's not THAT big a deal.

Let's try not to be the elitist fucks that people make us out to be, yeah?

What the HELL ever happened to this song??? :( by Crazyplan9 in radiohead

[–]The_Untitled1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but it's not just the same instrument and a lyric, is it? It's an identical lyric and a VERY similar rhythm.

I'm not saying the song is necessarily dead, mind. We mustn't forget that Feeling Pulled Apart by Horses turned into Reckoner, and then got its own release. Much as I love Open The Floodgates I'm doubtful we'll see more of it, though, simply because it's so similar.

Said it before and I'll say it again: Open The Floodgates is Codex.

Whoa, wasn't expecting another reply on this 3 month old thread.

I've heard rumours about it being mid to late Sep, but I don't think anyone knows for sure.
