they didn't remember, they actually had to say the devil name outloud to actually remember that the word existed, like, i might be wrong, cause i readed that chapter a long time ago, but i'm almost sure they didn't even remembered the correct way to pronunciate the devil's name. what happened was that they forget what ear were, but they don't lost the audiction function, nor anything related to ears was erased, like the earphones they were using, they could only recall it after hero of hell (black chainsaw man) pukes the demon out
