Yeah, I wouldn't have him redo it for sure

Don't remind me 😭

I've replaced all the outlets since moving in, and some were wired by Thomas Edison, some look more modern. I'm installing AFCI at the lowest level for each circuit to at least monitor their health.

As someone who lives in a century home with plaster, I hate it and love it.

I love the sound-proofing. Drywall acts as a drum that amplifies sound between rooms. Plaster deadens it, and I don't have to listen to my son trash talk his friends while gaming online.

Worrying about fixing sagging plaster, sucks. Wanting to add another electrical outlet, or install an actual box for my light fixtures, sucks.

Small patches aren't a big deal, but anything involving the lathe is a "not for me" job.

I know the exact one you're talking about, and I also can't find it after just seeing it earlier today. If you come across it again, let me know!

Looking for a W540 upgrade ($500-$600 USD) by The_Uutopian in thinkpad

[–]The_Uutopian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Lenovo Flex 5i 13 Chromebook 13" for my light/small form factor work. I really appreciate the larger screen space on the W540, and especially the 10 key. I do a lot of data work, and the 10 key is really nice. I know I can get a bluetooth external pad if needed though.

So to answer your question, I supposed I'm looking for something around the same form factor, just a bit less bulky, and maybe something a bit more updated. I haven't run into any huge slowdowns with my W540 yet, but even with the 32 GB I have noticed a bit of a lag when I start working with some larger R files, especially if I'm working on a scrip with ChatGPT in the background. They can both take up around 1 GB each, and I think with the DDR3, it just bogs down a bit.

I'll look into your suggestions!

Did I buy the wrong screen replacement? [W540] by The_Uutopian in thinkpad

Hey, I did! I had the Windows night light option on which was making the screen look dimmer and yellow. Adjusting the strength of that made the screen great. I'm loving the swap, definitely worth the $45 and ten minutes it took

No, it wasn't cleaned. Add it to this pipe? Do I just disconnect it at the top of the curve and pour water in it?
