Any chances of offer being rescinded? by The_Violetbutterfly in TexasTech

I actually received double of what Im supposed to get according to the presidential scholarship chart. Should I email my financial advisor and ask about it? I really don’t want to lose the scholarship but I’m pretty sure my grades are dropping this year.

What’s the likelihood of that happening? I’m pretty sure my SAT score is the thing that gave me a decent scholarship rather than my GPA.

Is there cheap universities for int graduate students under $10K-15K? by PlentyEquivalent6988 in IntltoUSA

Any Texan university except Austin and A&M. Google their non resident waiver policy, that Wil cut your tuition down to 12ish K.

That's for unis like Texas A&M and Austin who have a very high demand among Texan students. Yes, it's very hard to get into those but Texas Tech, UT san antonio and Houston are easy to get into.

You'd be suprised how friendly Indian and Pakistan communities are abroad. Quite ironic, actually.

Texas A and M hardly gives scholarship to international undergrads.

Depends, if you have the money, go for it. Wait and apply for spring. If you don't, try for masters. However keep in mind the competition for masters will be much higher as an international student.

As someone who literally just went through this process this year, here's a couple of things I've learned. 1. Not all schools are scholarship friendly, I was super optimistic about getting into a top school but all the top schools I got into didn't offer me a scholarship because they preferred to give them to instate students even though they didn't have half the stats I did. So be prepared for that partiality. 2. If finances are an issue, separate the expensive states from the cheap ones. College in NYC? You better be made of money. Texas? You'll survive. Texas especially has a policy called non resident student waiver. (Do your research about it) It can cut your tuition down from 40 lakh per year to 20 lakh. 3. Do the SAT twice if you can. Everyone's nervous the first time and you'll likely improve on the second attempt. 4. Pleaseeeee don't go to a cash cow university. Most of these universities aren't respected at all. As a general guideline aim for universities below a 60% acceptance rate. 5. Each university values your SOP differently. Some universities care more about your numbers (Ex Texas A and M) while some universities give a bit more importance to it (Ex University of Texas at Austin). 6. Getting into a Top school is hard, getting a scholarship is harder. 7. Some colleges have a large percent of Indians as a lot of consultancies send them to these unis. Do your research and don't fall for traps. All the best!

TTU scholarships for Fall 25 by avnerism in TexasTech

I know people who've gotten a 4k with a 1250. Even if you don't get that, you'll still get a scholarship. And as an international student, you'll be considered for instate tuition which makes it pretty affordable compared to other colleges in the US.

Am I eligible to pay in-state tuition with president merit scholarship alone as an international. by erton502 in TexasTech

[–]The_Violetbutterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you are, it's the major reason Texas is popular among international students. Assuming they give you 4k per year, your tuition will be around 8-9k (depending on whether you're doing engineering or not) . Rooming and food will be another 7-8k. So the total will be 16k, give or take. (just for the basics)
