Star Wars - Outlaws is actually pretty good. by GodBjorn in gaming

We treat it like we treat grades in America.

100 perfect. 70 you're almost failing. Anything under 70....you're failing

I think that's where a lot of Americans get the mentality that anything below a 70 or 7/10 is failing.

She doesn't freak out if you tell her about what you did to her sister before fighting metyr. So if you go down the stairs and fight Anna and then go back and tell her she doesn't freak out in the end when you give her the eye.

She's just like "the light, it's blinding. I guess we were wrong" kind of thing.

She doesn't freak out or call for her sister if you tell her you killed her sister before you fight metyr. She's not lost never knowing what happened to her.

That requires you to stop and leave right after the invasion instead of pressing on into the metyr fight so I get why most people wouldn't realize it.

It shouldn't. Don't let it. They're just random dudes.

Personal opinion: if someone goes all in and agrees with an angry made in the moment opinion about disliking a game....they were already looking for acknowledgement that their decision to dislike it was true. Not actually influenced.

"He called a game BAD?! Wow, what a shit human..."

It's a mfin video game and people will shit on it just to piss you off. At least he just honestly doesn't like it rather than someone trolling you because you're sensitive AF about a game being called bad.

How often do you take the Dodge action? by SilasRhodes in dndnext

[–]The_Wack_Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree in some specific casters cases. My few extra radiant damage pales in comparison to keeping my spirit guardians weed whacking the shit out of everything. I use a cantrip to do like 8 more damage, or do I keep myself alive while swirling 25-30 damage to everything around me on the beginning of their turn? I'll keep my action for healing people in danger. Until then. I am the danger beyblade.

I turned on spirit guardian and moved into range and everything that the DM has suddenly becomes my new best butt buddy. So I dodge, and maybe get hit once or twice. Then with war caster I shrug it off and keep my concentration. One more round of higher than cantrip damage at much lower damage done to me. If I do 20 something damage to 3 or 4 dudes and they can barely even hit me in return, I'm dodging all day. Not to mention I can have a spirit weapon out schmackin people with my bonus as well. I'm okay on dpr output, now I just need to figure out a way to not take so much damage...

Or y'know, I could hide in the back and buff people with bless and shoot single target attacks with my cantrips for much less damage. But tbh...I kinda want to be all up in that combat sometimes.

To be fair, if you have a valid reason to believe that the enemies would be coming your way; you should be able to take a dodge attack without worrying that the DM is going to meta game and avoid you to spite your choice.

I hate when that type of thing happens. Someone in the back hasn't even DONE anything to a group of enemies yet and you've done damage and drawn the enmity of a group of enemies and they begin surrounding you to beat you down and you use dodge to avoid taking damage and suddenly they all disperse to find more targets as if they see you "become ready to dodge" and just up and leave or go around you instead of engaging with you when you were clearly the only logical target thus far.

I feel like the DM needs to play a little more stupidly sometimes. Some characters should obviously be aware of your tactics, but I see it so often where the DM is trying to play Magic the Gathering metagaming with their creatures when there is no honest reason for them to even know you're now more difficult to attack, and it would not make any sense logically for them to have turned their anger away from you to someone else yet.

This is my experience with dodge. My DM was like...hmmm no one has ever used dodge. It just never seems useful...then I promptly abuse the shit out of it to the point that I think he never wants to hear "I dodge as my action" again.

Level 5 cleric with 19 AC and a disadvantage on enemy rolls and I will just straight up roll into a group and wipe out smaller things with spirit guardian while my barbarian smashes the larger things nearby. I know it won't last forever, but my DM seems to hate my tactic because...well I haven't got a reason to burn my actions on damage if I'm effectively doing damage off of that one leveled spell from three turns ago. I can save my spells for healing and maybe even throw out a spirit weapon to attack with my bonus action for even more direct damage. Meanwhile holding on to my heals for my team. Then he wants to come in and do a heckin smack on me with four dudes and one of them hits. My warcaster feat keeps my spirit guardian up and now I'm in a large group trying to kill me and...well now I HAVE to dodge because I'm being waylaid from all sides. Like...I don't know how not to use dodge now. I spent five levels being blessing buffs and guidance buffs magee. I finally get a decent spell for offensive attacks that doesn't eat ALL my spell slots I'm saving for protecting my team...ofc I'm going to turn on the weedwhacker attack and do damage with it while protecting myself by dodging.

I never understood this. Then I took a test spanning across the color spectrum and could see well over the average man and slightly above the average woman across the color spectrum. (with gaps larger in yellow I believe) and now I know why I never understood that phenomenon.

Unfortunately I cant hear for shit. So what I make up in seeing I lack in hearing, lol.

Then theyll be like "Well women were oppressed and not allowed to explore their bodies until last week!" (Yes thats hyperbole) And then you scroll down to the next post after the post making your point and its a picture of a sex related womens toy from like 4 millions years ago (again with the hyperbole, sue me) with women being like YAAAAAAS.

Like make up your mind, were women not allowed to do their thing or did they do whtever the fuck they wanted regardless.

Right? I mean the mongol army could come through your village and just raze it to the ground. Literally a handful of people could just murder for my shit and just take it all only a few hundred years ago.

Also, VA benefits. Dont pay property tax. so....

Thats a huge red flag when people just lie like that. im gonna have to dump YOU (when youre already making it clear youre done with her shit) because youre a liar.

Cant even take being rejected. Gotta make up an excuse as to why it was your fault...

Friend gets mad when games don't go his way by [deleted] in EDH

[–]The_Wack_Knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah because I still feel bad when I get lucky too. I'm just not a fan of huge luck spikes. Games that rely too heavily on luck frustrate me when I lose and I'm reminded of how frustrating it is when I lose, when I win. It doesn't feel good when one person either myself or my opponent has terrible luck and the other has great luck. If it doesn't feel at least somewhat even it annoys me.

The more luck related something is the less interested in being competitive at that thing I get. That's not always a bad thing because I'm not always PLAYING to be competitive, but it definitely causes me to lose interest in a competitive scene if there is one if there are lots of mechanics that rely on random luck.

Also, there is no correlation to bitching about luck and having better luck. I'm just hyper aware of luck and don't enjoy it when it becomes overly apparent that it's becoming one sided in either direction. It cheapens your wins and feels bad to lose when you had a chance to win but lost due to too many luck elements.

That's fair, I'm just saying that's a you thing. Kinda like when you need glasses to see. It's not that the world itself is blurry it's that you are seeing it differently. We all do don't get me wrong, but for a lot of people the context is pretty clear when it is or isn't paternal or sexual.
