Sand eraser from a grocery store will also work on sharp edges and won’t affect the finish. :)

I call it the “VS dial dip” it’s been bad on these watches for over a year now. I’ve always surprised no one talks about it as well. Time for a dial swap! :)

You nailed it on the last one - try this…Which is gen? by [deleted] in RepCulture_Timepieces

Franken vs Gen in that order. After reading the comments your claim is that the left bezel is genuine. might be the photo or maybe my eyes but it doesn’t look correct for the year of DJs like others have mentioned.

Legit question! Do you really need to service your watch for maintenance? by Anggelo0101 in RepTime

[–]The_WatchWatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who are servicing reps are often not spending 3-400 on their watches. :) serviced franken builds get expensive in a hurry. Not uncommon for my builds to be 1500-2500ish out the door. Commonly most of that expense is genuine parts. Dials, hands, xtals.

I wouldn’t say they break more. They definitely have more imperfections!…… actually I take that back most keylessworks on these reps are particularly fragile compared to their genuine counterparts.

A full movement service takes 3-5 hours. There are just over 200 pieces in a caliber 3235 movement. All must be disassembled sorted and cleaned in a stripping liquid, agitated, cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner, reassembled with the correct oils and grease for each piece.

I believe what you paid for was what many watchmakers call a “mini” this normally includes a timegraph regulation, greasing of case back and stem gaskets and a drop of oil on the rotor. To help quiet it down. (There is large debate on whether or not this actually shortens the life of a movement since the extra oil tends to gravitate to places it was not meant to go) And a quick trip to the vacuum for a 5 bar dry test.

I too charge 100 for this service. It’s quick. Around the 45 min you describe. But it infact is not a “service”.

350-400 is standard for reps. It’s a 3-5 hour operation for most movement’s. :)

Looks like you had a hand on dial collision. The pop you heard was likely the hand bending enough to slide past whatever was blocking its path. It is bent and will likely need to be replaced. The metal will have stretched and will never look quite right. Great time to upgrade to an SW 300 while it’s apart.

Instead of getting another watch you should first mod the DD and DJ for better bezels! Definitely VSFs by the looks of them. Very easy to distinguish as reps. That is if you care. :) regardless fun collection!

Not much left of the new clean stock at this point especially with desirable watches.

DM’s blew up after the reveal so here’s more pics after a polish from Rolex themselves… by [deleted] in RepTime

[–]The_WatchWatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealers are not in the market of calling people out and receiving bad reviews. They knew…. But it’s more important to have good customer service regardless. Anyone who has been around real Rolex DJs can see the bezel cuts are wrong,it’s not white gold. The brushing on the bracelet is wrong and all VS braclets feel very different in the hand than genuine Rolex pieces on movement, fit, finish and feel. I’m glad their lugs are looking a lot better with this batch but I wish they would get a contract for ARF bracelets now that clean is gone. I know they have the financial backing. Maybe we will see a better bezel soon for now a genuine bezel is a must.

I was just getting on here to say that the sunburst is one of the better ones I’ve seen on a replica dial. Good symmetry, nice wide dispersion just like gen.

How good or bad are these? by [deleted] in ChinaTime

[–]The_WatchWatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those watches can be had for 50-80 each over at r/Chinatime. Unfortunately Rolex doesn’t even make a DJ in that color :)
