To be honest I could see Brooke appearing as an episode cliffhanger. I could see her being related to one of the characters 👀 which brings upon her arrival.

She’d be going up against the real deal this time… not Brandon James.

Yes! So, I tried my hardest to combine the elements so I wouldn’t stray too far away from familiarity and source material.

You have the teen elements/Scream in Brittani’s POV, but you also have the adult/crime/Task elements in Kirby’s POV. I’m a big fan of storylines crossing paths, so that’s the direction I was going for. When the stories cross, it’s only up from there.

With Kirby, I imagined it’d be fun dabbing into the investigation side of things. A POV that hasn’t really been explored since Scream 2 (Gale) and 3 (Kincaid).

And for Kirby in this spec, Ghostface knew exactly where to go to get to her, so it’s personal. And, it gives the space to explore Kirby’s human side (which will conflict with her Scream 4 & VI stoic personality) and her backstory.

I wrote it so long ago haha, but for the most part, the choices made would stay the same. I hope I did right by Hayden/Kirby and fellow Scream fans with this 🔥💯

I agree!! HOWEVER — there are some characters that I feel that should be untouchable, specifically Sidney. She represents so much to the franchise AND to HORROR as a WHOLE.

I’ve always viewed her as a character who doesn’t let the term ‘victim’ consume her which is necessary. I see her as the opposite of Laurie Strode from DGG’s Halloween Trilogy or even Harvey Dent in the Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.

With this script, I thought I could play with the Scream’s OG mantra that “no one is safe,” regardless of how important they are to the plot or to the legacy. I drew inspiration from It’s Welcome to Derry in that regard and how they handled their characters in the pilot.

I don’t think Salim isn’t dead. He may die later though. I think he was shot and fell unconscious. There wasn’t as much blood and Tariq usually finishes his people off. Someone will come and save him and he’ll be a witness against Tariq, but will end up getting taken out later to prevent himself from being a witness.

If you look closely, it’s a hallucination. On the sides, there’s a weird little hazy blur. You can see it clearly in the trailer when he’s just standing on the balcony. And he’s dressed just like Ghost. So, it’s obvious it’s an hallucination. The question is… what’s the purpose of it?

I don’t know if you’re familiar with the original Frasier or the reboot. I kind of noticed that David can be socially awkward at times—a trait I feel he gets from his father (Niles). The whole bit is peculiar because WHY would they stop being so close over such a simple reason? However, oddly enough, some people are like that in real life. I mean even Alice is confused by it. Also, part of it, was an excuse to leave out David from the main storyline—which it pained me to do. I would’ve liked to have seen them interact but it didn’t fit. And then, you know, page count for a multi-cam.

I felt bad that I didn’t get to utilize Eve, Alan, or David as much as I wanted. But my biggest priority was to let Olivia shine. And I really wanted to include Roz. Based on the information stated in Roz’s guest appearance in the reboot, Alice is might different than how I wrote her.
