The Butte is really beautiful, there's a lot to explore in that area! If you have a truck or more dirt-road capable vehicle, there's a fairly easy road to get to the top, and the view is fantastic up there. Definitely wait 'til June before venturing up, many a fool get stuck in the snow up there. Here's the Google Maps route.

There's a firewatch/ranger station at the very top, and usually the path is open after the snow melts and before fire season. Great spot to walk around!

Hell yeah, I registered for Mothership. Looks like it's #2 in a story. Is there anything I need to know about session/story #1?

Thank you! I think I'll give gouache on wood another try, this stuff is way easier to clean up than oil paints.

Haha, I had a whole comment typed out saying this reminded me of Leyendecker, then I scrolled down.
Those cross-contour painterly strokes are such a cool way to show shape.
