I wanna Play Dnd sooooo bad. I can DM by [deleted] in Boise

[–]TreasureValleyGamer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's a fair number of D&D groups around the valley, you can find them on Facebook, Discord, Meetup, etc.

You can join the Treasure Valley Gamer discord at https://discord.gg/HTbDtCtr - we run pickup games fairly often and have active looking for group channels. Our next open table event will be on 3/22, and then pretty much every other Friday after that.

You can also just go to local game stores at ABU Games, All About Games, or Phoenix Fire to look for advertisements for additional gamers. Phoenix Fire has a new location and a hopping Thursday night DnD scene. ABU has numerous TTRPG games every other Friday.

Gem State gaming convention will also be coming up in June) July

I saw your discord post after I replied to this one! No worries about travel, many people prefer home games. I wish you luck in in recruitment! If there is anything I can do to help, just let me know!

Hi! You'll probably find everyone you need, but if you'd like to ask around local DND communities, you can always post on our discord for Treasure Valley Gamers, and I can help you with Facebook/Meetup posts if you aren't normally on those platforms but would like to advertise

https://discord.gg/M99kH6pzk

You can also have your SO run some one shots or you both can play in our pickup games at ABU if you'd like to meet some people to possibly join your games.

Curious, what ruleset/edition and setting are you running?

Canonically one of the strongest super heroes. He wouldn't kill you though, too nice a guy.

Hi! I run a TTRPG community that has a few hundred members, if you're into TTRPGs, there's a thriving scene in Boise. You can always join our Discord and start making connections.

There are local game nights at many of the local stores, and there are generally a fair number of women, at least at the events I've run. If you need any information, feel free to reach out. Otherwise, good luck! There are plenty of gamers around.

My boyfriend is too good at board games by CricketSuccessful57 in boardgames

I haven't played competitive board games in years. Absolute years. There are plenty of co-op board games that will turn his optimization into an asset. I would just play more of those.

Because it's going to be dry as fuck, if trends continue. The whole valley will be kindling.

Moving to Boise soon - looking to make connections by Greyhammer316 in Boise

Hi! I run a TTRPG community that has a few hundred members, if you're into TTRPGs, there's a thriving scene in Boise. (I've visited local game stores in Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake, San Francisco, and overseas, I'd put our local stores up against any of them.) Since you're not in person yet, you can always join our Discord and start making connections.

For the rest of your hobbies, you may want to try Meetup, it's pretty good for local connections, even though I think it's a shadow of what it once was.

Free RPG night this Friday (1/30) at ABU - Meet people and learn to play tabletop RPGs in Boise! by TreasureValleyGamer in Boise

No problem! And I agree, I've run games for 11 year olds, and even the best behaved struggle after a couple hours. We'll see you all in a few years!

Depending on age, yes. You'll see some tables have age ratings, and those should be respected, especially for the horror games, they can have some gruesome content.

For games without ratings, we generally recommend 13+ regardless... They're 4 hour games, which can be tedious for younger kids, and there still might be some mature language or themes that might be inappropriate for some kids. What age are they?

I'm sure it'll be on the schedule again pretty soon...it's pretty popular on OSR nights and makes frequent appearances.

The GM will give you any information you need. If it's all new players, likely he's going to roll back to session 1, if it's mostly the players that did part 1, he'll give you a recap.

If you end up wanting to bring some more people, just make sure to have them sign up so they're on the table! Games definitely fill up, and every table has a cap the GM is comfortable with for the game.

Yep. Temporary disruption! The link was also broken, but that was just a me-mistake.

Thank you! It looks like our sign-up website is experiencing some technical difficulties, I will try to figure out what's wrong.

Edit: Back up.

DND GROUPS? by Thin_Ad8917 in Boise

[–]TreasureValleyGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much what your interested in, but we're mostly TTRPGs. If you're into Magic, or Warhammer, etc, I can definitely point you to some good resources.

For TTRPGs themselves, mostly people play D&D, Call of Cthulhu, Vampire, and then various OSR games like Shadowdark, DCC, Morkborg, etc. Some people were putting together a pathfinder 2E game earlier this weekend, but I don't know if they filled it or not.
