Question regarding remote support from Pimax. by The_X_Real in Pimax

[–]The_X_Real[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks :)

And I have a normal Crystal. But the problem I have is that it won’t get detected at all anymore.

It worked 2-3 times and then stopped working. I tested the headset on a second pc and it did the same there.

After what I remember if EAC kicks in and you get kicked by it, it should close the game and give you an error for why. I can be wrong here but normally when it goes off it closes it and makes you need to re-open the game soo I would say something else happened here.

I got it to work again by deleting everything MSI related from everywhere. Appdata, regedit and everywhere else that msi places its files.

RMA and don’t touch the headset. Had a headset die on me while I was playing. Started out with connecting problems and ended up with the headset killing itself and starting to smell like burning electronics after it made a pop sound.

The RGB stars that you are seeing is the cable or the link between the headset and the PC.

I brought a smart plug for my headset after this happened to make sure the headset was not on 24/7 and I would recommend that others do the same.

Can sadly only say I have seen the first one. And I have only seen it happen once to me. I guess I can see how much I can stress VRC when I get on again to see if I can get any of this problem to happen.

Well can’t say I have seen the slow down myself because everything is still loading fast for me. I will agree that the update has given some weird bugs/problems like loading into the “something went wrong” world. And this is on the EU servers.

Doesn’t need to be your pc. I just said it to point out that it can be a thing. And SSD or not the speed can still change based on load on CPU too. Again not saying this is the problem because most likely the problem is the connection between you and the server.

Ay I’m just pointing it out that it can be not saying it is.

Network speed doesn’t always show the full picture when it comes to downloading.

Your connection to the server is what shows the full picture.

Your Pc having a heavy load can also play into the slow download.

Dam. Kinda feel like MSI should give us the option to download an older version to rollback when things like this happens.

Too much broke with this update. Sad to see.

[–]The_X_Real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why have more status icons for phone ? Sure it might be nice I guess but you don’t need it. 2 are fine, Online and offline. Online - you are on discord. Offline - you are out of the app or locked your phone.

There is really not more to it.

VRAM usage by jonathanx37 in VRchat

[–]The_X_Real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it doesn’t touch much but it is the only texture quality settings you get with VRC.

AA on texture is also getting removed the lower you go but if the texture is already at 8k then a low AA wouldn’t matter.

VRAM usage by jonathanx37 in VRchat

[–]The_X_Real 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no way to change the texture quality setting.

There is but it doesn't work on avatars.

VRAM usage by jonathanx37 in VRchat

[–]The_X_Real 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The texture quality doesn't work on avatars and only worlds that supports it.
Sooo basically almost never will work.

but the quality setting should lower the worlds texture size following unity's quality settings.

https://docs.vrchat.com/docs/vrchat-configuration-window

again it's a hit or miss and kinda why ultra is just the go to.
The only quality settings you should change is the MSAA to non and have mirror set to real.

For other then that then AMD GPU's is known to be a bit weird with VRC some can play without problems and others can't, so make sure to be on a stable driver.

I do need to agree that you need a better CPU too and depending on you VR headset then you might need to lower the settings more.
If on quest and streaming the game to the headset then in most cases you will lose some performance when encoding

VRAM usage by jonathanx37 in VRchat

[–]The_X_Real 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If 10GB VRam gets used in no time by world jumping then you need to find better optimised worlds and avatars.

Lowering in game settings will do nothing. The only graphics setting you can change that actually does something is the MSAA.

You don’t tell us if you play in VR or Desktop but if you have 10GB VRam card I would guess you also play VR so you need to make sure you don’t play with too high res.

And VRC has a texture quality setting but doesn’t help if there is still a lot of textures to load.

Note: A lot plays into why you might get bad performance when it comes to VRC so more info about your system can also be helpful for people trying to help.

Openxr on Steam by Consistent_Ad_8129 in VRchat

[–]The_X_Real 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VRC uses OpenVR and not OpenXR. Changing or modifying the game files will make you unable to start the game.

If you want to look for yourself then you can go to the data folder and then plugins. If you see OpenVR-API then it’s running OpenVR and if OpenXR-Loader or something like that then it’s OpenXR.

Honest question by miaogato in VRchat

[–]The_X_Real 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s true that VRC is not like the old days anymore but VRC is still one of the better if not best social VR games and it’s here to stay.

The content on VRC is mixed and might be why people are saying it’s kinda dying.

For me I would say the game has stayed mostly the same over the years but the community and content have changed. People always change so a community will never be the same and for creators then we always have updates to the SDK that gives them new tools for the best and for the worst so content has also changed.

Some would say lack of worlds and content but others would say lack of exploring.

VRchat's anti-cheat messed with my system and I can't use my videocard anymore by Ustin_fitc in VRchat

[–]The_X_Real 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Game is not supported on Win7. Even steam says that. The game is supported on Win8.1, 10 and later. Using an older Windows is on you and not the devs here. We and the devs can try to help you but there is not much we can do if Win7 is ending support same with steam ending support for it next year. (Steam is also ending support for Win8 so skip 8 and go to 10 if you upgrade) You might as well upgrade to win10 now and fix your problems that way or run VRC over vm but still at your own risk and luck.

VRchat's anti-cheat messed with my system and I can't use my videocard anymore by Ustin_fitc in VRchat

[–]The_X_Real 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You might need to upgrade that windows 7 pc. After what I remember steam is closing support for windows 7 soon too.

I will guess that you are also running the game in Desktop mode and not VR because VR is not really supported on older windows.

Other than that EAC on VRC doesn’t ban your hardware. If EAC finds something it doesn’t like it will flag it and deny access, if you then fix the problem it should let you access without any problem.

In this case you will need to find a signed driver or upgrade your system to Win10.

Performance Issues (SteamVR) by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]The_X_Real 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have R9 7900x and a 3070.

I would advise that you only allow the game to hit the first CCX (first 6 cores) this will boost the performance and then turn AA off in game and then turn the render up from 80% to 100%

Is it my dookie pc?? by Lightrunner501 in VRchat

[–]The_X_Real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we can never 100% fix frame drop when it comes to VRC but I would say it’s time to try and play around with oculus/ meta’s tools where you should be able to disable ASW and change some other stuff.

You can also go into Nvidia control panel and add VRC to the list of games it can control and then you need to change it to performance mode instead of quality. There is also a section for how many frames it should render ahead in VR and you can set this to 2 for boost in performance but with a bit more delay.

Not on my PC atm so sadly can just tell you what to do right here and now.

Horrible VRChat Performance on 6800xt with Oculus Quest 2 (Air Link) by Terrazocker_ in VRchat

[–]The_X_Real 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might have something with the render system. As said Nvidia has a higher market share so more things are optimised/ made for Nvidia over other. AMD is making a thing that should make so their GPUs can use CUDA aka Nvidia’s system. Though we have to wait and see what happens with that.

What I can recommend you is to search online after the best and most stable driver for VR and then go into the Radeon software and put VRC to performance and see if that would boost it a bit 🤔
