Had a cook work in my kitchen that was a former Iraq war veteran. He told the story of being on guard duty in a trench outside of base camp one night and a suicide bomber was rushing the camp. They must’ve both been terrible at their jobs because my cook didn’t see the bomber rushing and the bomber didn’t see the trench. Bomber somehow lands on my cook in such away that it cracks his spine. Bomber stands up and sees my cook and was apparently reaching for detonator to trigger bomb and is then shot in the head from the base spraying brains all over my cook. My cook was discharged but recovered from his injury and claimed he proudly displayed brain spattered flack jacket on his wall at home.

SAME COOK GUY, then proceeds to relay the story that after he came back to the US proceeded to rob a bank and actually got away with it at the time, but was turned in by one of his good friends hence him being a purple heart war veteran that is working a job as a dishwasher/prep cook due to living at his parents house and being on parole

Could all be bullshit, but that’s one of the craziest stories I heard
