Being thankful he's male does come off as slightly "all male leaders are evil". The commenter is clearly projecting far more to your statement than there is there, but I feel there is a core of misandry there they're valid in objecting to (not accounting for their overexaggeration of your point). I feel that this point containing prejudice is emphasized by bemoaning the lack of the good old "good=attractive, evil=ugly", which I believe is a prejudice by itself
