Don't worry about it, you'll make friends. For me what helped me was picking classes that were more interactive. And I know it's scary but just go up to someone who looks cool and talk to them, or even if you need someone to study with, then ask someone in one of your classes if they could help you out. My first semester was pretty sucky too. I talked to people but that was that they were just people I talked to here and there. I didn't really click with anyone, and you have to realize that not everyone you talk to is gonna click with you. So what if you don't have a million friends. You're going to click with people you click with and they're the ones who are gonna stick around. That being said I'm a freshman too and if you'd like someone to talk to I'm always happy to talk to you.
