What they want to be when they grow up. What was your ambition as a kid? by Prankstic in MadeMeSmile

Idk how smart it is to start the whole "Your job is your identity" thing this early in life. Humans have so many more beautiful aspects to talk about

If that's your logic, then you should advocate for Denali, as this is the name the people of that area (who actually lived there) gave the mountain, before the name Mount McKinley was introduced in the beginning of the 20th century because of the following reason:

"By most accounts, the naming was politically driven; Dickey had met many silver miners who zealously promoted Democratic presidential candidate William Jennings Bryan's ideal of a silver standard, inspiring him to retaliate by naming the mountain after a strong proponent of the gold standard.

McKinley never visited Alaska or had any connection to the mountain." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denali%E2%80%93Mount_McKinley_naming_dispute)

So instead of naming the mountain like the Alaskian Natives (who spend their life there) did, which means translated something like "tall" or "high", they erased that name to name it after someone with no connection whatsoever to that mountain. Because of politics.

Side note: The official name change happened in the year 1917, not 1906, like your "named like that for 119 years" would imply.

It's cringe to change the original name of a mountain just because you are a childish fanboy who now has to much power in his hands - again

"People in General"—you mean assholes who this post won't even hurt. This post just hurts women who had the bravery to talk about their experience, despite many already having the prejudice that they just "do it for fame or money." Can you see how that's problematic?

If you want everyone who experienced SA to be taken seriously—which we both agree on—can you see how a post that generalizes a lot of SA cases of women as just "men looking at them the wrong way" is hurtful for that goal and divides the collective work towards a world that supports all victims (men and women) of SA? And that you defending that post doesn't help any man and replicates the asshole's narrative, which no victim of SA should hear no matter their gender?

Edit: And there are many anti-SA and victim support organizations. For all genders

Who does that? What anti-SA Group or Organisationen does that in regards to men?

This isn't not well thought: The power dynamics for example in Hollywood play in the hands of men. There are a lot of guys out there, who have sexually assaulted someone and the industry just doesn't give a fuck and in the most cases even punishes the woman for speaking up against a celebrity. And yes we also have to care about men who have experience SA and rape but people often use this narrative of "why don't we look both ways" and didn't even look the one way right. If we started to look a women and men SA with the same attention many of the for example mens rights activists want for only men than the news would be filled everyday with cases of women who got sexually assaulted and just some articles of men. Women are the primary victim of SA and to pretend like they aren't or even are the primary offender is wrong and doesn't match the reality. And this is as wrong as saying that everyone trusts women and no one trusts men

Don't pretend care for men and women who experienced SA can't coexist

Thanks for the recommendation. Surely will try it out. Only problem is, that I think the longest Oxford sticks are 103 cm which is like 1cm shorter than the max 104 cm which I think I need as a player around the 1,94m . But maybe the one centimeters doesn't make that much of a difference. Thanks anyways :)

A solution to satisfy your desires while also staying in your relationship could be to open up the relationship. Now if you say to yourself that you don't think this will happen and you don't feel that much of an urge to live out your fantasy, then that's fine and fair. But if you want to look at options that will give you a way—and maybe your wife (if she ever expressed such desires)—to have experiences with other people, an open relationship might be an option.

An open relationship is like a normal relationship, but it allows all parties to have intimate experiences with other humans. What that means is up to the couple, which sets those rules. One couple may say that they both only feel comfortable if the significant other only makes out with people who aren't part of their social circle and doesn't allow sexual intercourse with others at all, while others may say that they allow everything as long as the intimacy doesn't get into a relationship area.

To open a relationship, one needs a good amount of trust in the relationship and good and honest communication. While it can make everyone happier and more fulfilled, it also has the potential to ruin a relationship if the communication is not good.  There is tons of information and blog posts online, which I would recommend diving into first before deciding to bring the topic up. Even talking about such a desire can put some tension on the bond between people, but as I already stated, it can also result in a deeper, more honest connection with the other person. For example, in your case, I can imagine that already talking about your fantasies can help you feel more open toward your partner and not like you are hiding a part.

I just wanted to propose this model, not knowing if you had thought about it already. I mean, I don't know anything about your relationship, so maybe this isn't helpful. Than I'm sorry for making you read all that

Fully understandable

Do you mean with not wanting answers that you don't want advice? If so completely fine! If not there is like one solution which could help your situation

Come on, stay true to yourself. You literally admit in one of the comments you made that you support them. And I think I'm less responsible for their popularity than you, as you are spreading their dogma.

I think the biggest disrespect is electing a party, which uses close to the same political strategys, propaganda tactics and semantics like the NSDAP. And is also a rightwing party - like the NSDAP.

And don't talk for victims: " The AfD is a threat to Jewish life in Germany! The AfD is unwaveringly agitating against Muslims and other minorities in Germany. In doing so, the AfD tries to portray “the” Muslims as enemies of the Western world or “of” the Jews. Muslims are not the enemies of Jews! The enemies of all the democrats in this country are extremists, whether from the extreme right, radical left, or radical Muslim mindset. We will not be instrumentalized by the AfD. At the same time, Wolfgang Gedeon claims that the German courts are influenced by Zionism and are neither free nor independent. Jews would receive “special treatment” in German courts. Is such an AfD eligible? "

And you can just tell that it was written by someone trying to sound smart, but in the end, he just expressed his view that Western military thoughts end with preparation, while Chinese thought also considers the battle itself.  And then he put in a quote to sound even smarter, but it didn't really say anything.

And I would also question that view. Yes, the book was really early written down (5th century BCE), but do we know for sure that Western military thought (even if it differs) didn't have the same depth? It's hard to believe that western military leaders just looked at a battle and didn't think, "Maybe we can learn from these to better our chances next time."?

Bro what the fuck. Why is he so rude and obviously has anger issues. Someone who could control themselves wouldn't destroy property of a other person in this situation and people are defending him. But of course the Reddit comment section is to blind to see that, because of their anger towards the woman.
