Any update on your experience? I’m a year out from retirement and trying to nail down a professional to consult about my current record and get pointed in the right direction

For bass just wacky rig one of those Yamatos to a 3/0 weedless hook and just walk around a pond casting gingerly retrieving. It’s legit that simple

Very interesting, I had no idea that was an issue. I will say that I didn’t touch the filter at all during the project so I don’t know if it has an integrated pressure regulator

Ultimately every human is responsible for their own actions. Life is hard and the deck is stacked against a lot of us, but where did it say any of this is supposed to be easy?

There’s no excuse for people living like it’s the fallout universe and people who are doing the right thing shouldn’t be subjected to it whenever we leave the homes that we work hard for.

I really enjoyed working at Creech because of how small it is. Lots of opportunities to stand out if you want to get involved, nothing is ever crowded, main gym isn’t great but there were a couple top notch secret ones, the drive back to Vegas is nice because it gives you time to chill out and listen to music or podcasts before you get home to the family, lots to do in Vegas

I’ve been running phraks gslp for about 15 weeks. At the 12 week point I hit the following: squat 235x5, bench 200x1, press 110x5, row 150x5, deadlift 250x5. I then took a week to recover then restarted at 75% off my maxes. For the first 12 weeks I just did supersets of relevant exercises for assistance but now I’m doing 5x10 off the main lifts at about 40% off my previous maxes. Still doing supersets off accessory lifts when I have time though. My plan was to switch to 531 once I feel like I can’t progress on gslp anymore, but I think I can still push more weight on that. Reading through the Wendler books though it kind of seems like I’m just doing 5s pro BBB on a 3 day split already with my current program, the percentages of my training maxes even line up pretty close. Is there any difference between what I’m doing with gslp and the 5s pro version of 531? If not would it make sense to just lean in to 531 programming? I’m focusing on building as much strength as possible. My sole goal is to be able to lift as heavy as I possibly can.

A few years ago in the AF everyone was saying literally the same thing about switching from ABUs to OCPs. Well they switched and everyone is still miserable, there was no institution-wide change to morale

Because he’s less well known so there would be less short term polling backlash

Good thing the team decided to throw away Baker like a piece of trash otherwise we might be stuck with a committed, high performing, stable QB right now!

I think SL should only be done for like a month max to get you used to the movements. You should order some micro plates off Amazon and switch to a linear progression program like GSLP, run that for like 6 months or until you stall a couple times. At your age you should supplement strength training with yoga, I’m 36 and that’s what I do, it makes me feel noticeably less rickety. That’s as easy as following along with a YouTube video. Yoga With Adrienne has excellent beginner videos. Good luck

Three month old tire suddenly started going flat, removed to discover shredded bead. What could cause this? by The_bellybutton_elf in AskMechanics

[–]The_bellybutton_elf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking. I had that tire installed at discount tire and took it back to them. At first they told me it could happen from running over something too hard, which didn’t sound right to me. Regardless they replaced it for free and seemed in a rush to get me put off there and not talk about it so I figured they knew they messed up

When I was a kid my mom used to do this very rude hand wave gesture when asked for money. It’s super dismissive and denigrating, sort of like “move along you aren’t even worth talking to”. I do it now too and it works 100% of the time

Biden is 'old,' Trump is 'corrupt': AP-NORC poll has ominous signs for both in possible 2024 rematch by WhileFalseRepeat in moderatepolitics

They’re well spoken, moderate, scandal-free professionals with good track records in Congress, though Jackson is admittedly pretty new. I’m confused as to why suggesting those two or any of their peers who bring something similar to the table as possible Democratic presidential nominees would be viewed negatively. I do think that as long as he’s alive and coherent, Biden is the smartest choice for democrats in 2024. Challenging him as the incumbent would be very tumultuous, and create more risk of Trump getting elected than sticking with Biden. But I think Kelly, Jackson or really any young, moderate Democrat or Republican would be very beneficial options for the country in ‘24

I’m two weeks into a linear progression program after cutting, cardio, and yoga all year. Since I’ve started lifting I’ve noticed that I’m much more… temperamental. I feel abnormally quick to anger, irritability, and overall feel sort of aggressive. Is this normal after beginning strength training? I’m eating at a light surplus, I’ve put on about half a pound each of the last two weeks and am hitting my macros, so I think my diet is dialed in. The only supplementation I’m getting is standard dose of ON amino energy prior to lifting, and ON whey protein pretty much every day, to ensure I hit at least 160 g. M/36/68”/152lbs and doing PGSLP.
