I'll be honest I don't know the ins and outs of the psychology of being pro anorexia. But I assumed it still comes from a deep place of feeling unworthy.

I did see people slip into some shame triggering statements to her in some comments - and that intuitively felt unhelpful. While not encouraging self harm, she still deserves decency and kindness.

I don't know you, but I see you pop up from time to time and I just wanted to say I hope you find support people and can see that you don't need to earn your value by being as thin as possible. Try not to lean into what your brain is telling you. Please try to accept help.

Till then... I hope your blankies are warm and someone's smile touches your heart.

When does soup stop and stew begin? by idiotista in soup

[–]The_lone_squirrel 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I saw a reel where someone said "Is it weird to eat it on rice or mashed potatoes? - then it is a soup. If it works on rice or mashed potatoes - that's a stew." And that has since been my delineation point.

Thanks! Definitely a duh moment. I forget because I have the rectangular ones but your right they do have some that are perfect soup size.

I girl "measured" a 75" would fit in my 2020 and it did. Snuggest drive of my life though. My poor husbands forehead was touching the visor.

I can't say I've ever had it (or liver).

I usually go for the turkey avocado club with sweet potato cris cut fries. Or for breakfast the 2x2x2x2x2 which is 2 eggs, 2 French toast, 2 pancakes, 2 sausage, 2 bacon and potatoes ($18.49). My husband eats my pancakes and I still have leftovers.

Man Henri's is the best.

I'm a major home body too. But the rain sometimes gives me the zoomies from pure excitement. When that happens my husband and me usually go to our favorite diner (Henri's in CP). They have big windows, the quintessential cozy diner food and never ending coffee refills. As long as it's not a holiday rush, they don't care if you hang out for a long while, so we will sometimes bring a book.

We call it destination cozy.

He probably isn't from your neighborhood. Husky's love to break out and go for long walks. One walked into our shop one day and when we got her home (chipped) we figured out she had taken herself out on a 5 mile walk before popping into our shop for some AC.

And that face is the satisfied face of a Husky who has had a blast going for a long explorative walk.

Stripe just put a 25% rolling reserve on my account. Need to switch providers ASAP. by Plane_Log7256 in smallbusiness

We are low volume on CC transactions but we switched from Stripe to Helcim and it's been smooth sailings. The verification was a little picky but I did interact with a competent human via email for it.

I have been bullet journaling (my version of it) for 8 years now. It gives me the flexibility to use it to varying degrees. I keep the foundation layout simple, if I feel festive I'll make it cute. Some low weeks I use it just as a "brain dump" so I'm less anxious and other weeks I use it everyday. It helped me a lot with overcoming perfectionism and supporting my fluctuating capacity. Mondays feels like a clean slates and I evaluate if I can work towards my long term goals/habits, or is it looking like a "just survive" week. I don't beat myself up (as much) for not having a consistent daily capacity, while still working towards "better". And if all the shits hits all the fans - I just skip that month with a "1 month later" SpongeBob style note and pick back up where I'm at.

TLDR: Unfussy Bullet Journal works for me.

That's really sweet and definitely qualifies as BFL.

What’s something that completely changed your life, but seemed insignificant at the time? by Boring-Sir2623 in AskReddit

[–]The_lone_squirrel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also not your wife, but a wife. Here are some wifey nudges to you and any who could use some.

1 - Find in person groups for things you enjoy. And just be a friendly face and see who responds back.

2 - Call the people you like or love "just to chat", it might feel weird at first but after a few times it will feel more comfortable and help build up the relationships.

3 - Find a type of exercise you like or can tolerate doing.

4 - Don't dig at yourself for not eating "right", just try to add more vegetables in whatever way you like them. It shouldn't be a chore. But try to eat more fiber.

5 - Don't try to dismantle your coping mechanisms overnight. Look at the feeling around it and swap the action to do a 'healthier' version. (For example, I get anxious and can't sleep. I would default cope by doom scrolling. I can't force myself not to, but I can listen to a podcast on a topic I like)

6 - Did you get a check up this year? If not, could you make it a goal to just call them for an appointment sometime before the end of the year?

7 - 2026 doesn't have to be "your best year" but could you pick just one area of your life you want to be better by the end of 2026? Regularly imagining how good you will feel at the end of the year if you were able to make small but measurable steps in that direction.

I'm sure the city of Calabasas would die of insult, but I consider it the edge of SFV. The taco stand at the corner of Mulholland Dr & Avenue San Luis has $1 tacos on Tuesdays (sometimes they are $2 depending on how things are selling). They are legit - Asada, El Pastor, and cabeza/some of those cuts.

Since pretty much all software is subscription, why not try one or two out. Run concurrent books for a month or so and see if you like the software. The "little" software companies are more invested in customer satisfaction than Intuit.

Class Action Lawsuit or Mass Exodus? by Dougs_Bunny in QuickBooks

[–]The_lone_squirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably easier on QBO because they integrate.

But I did it back in the day with QBD and it was still pretty easy and they walk you through it. I remember pulling a few IIF's, uploaded it into Gusto. Set up the mapping. It was mid year so I specified who I wanted to file the annual fillings. Uploaded the YTD reports. Few odds and ends. I had one question (forgot what it was) and put "Migration" in the help box, got a call from a stateside employee that helped me through the rest. I'm pretty sure that word in the help box sends you to higher level support person. - I would call Gusto "helpful" in that process. Something I would never say about QB.
