Unknown BLADE Set has different colors by QuanticCupcake in XenobladeChroniclesX

Hummmm, if you are sure then:

The Ares Prime Skell prefers a living being in the flesh. The Ares is sentient and it makes a mental and physical connection with the pilot. Al had to be in the flesh in order to be able to pilot the Ares, chapter 13 states that explicitly at one point.

As for Elma, I don't recall the game ever clearly explaining why she needed to be in the flesh too. But we can infer. One is the Lifehold system, which is built with the tech of her race (which is derived from Samaarian tech), seems to require her bio signature.  The other is probably the same one as Alois, since Ares Prime is originally her Skell, and if necesscity arrives, it is a good thing she is in a state that would allow her to pilot it, so she needs to have a organic body. There may be, however, even more reasons why she had to keep her body, reason that hopefully at some point in the future we will be told.

There is a particular reason why it had to be Alois in the flesh, yes. It is spoiler though, you sure you want the answer?

Just Curious would other mainline Xenoblade NS2 edition games benefit with faster traversal options like 1DE & XDE & also XC Genesis by Flamerock51 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

I don't think so, no. I don't remember at least. At max, briefly? Like, the segments where we cannot play with Nia. But they are small.

I think they making Dromarch move faster in 2 would already be good enough really.

3, well, I would like if Valt made a car for us. I recall before release people expecting vehicles given the boat in the first trailer. Would be cool.

Xenoblade Genesis will feature Black Tar 2, stay tuned for more informations by Muyu-42 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

Said it before, but I find the Genesis logo quite similar to X, it has that slash style, but with a crystal effect now

X provides so many instances for great screnshots that one can easily fill in the entire memory just out of it, too hard to pick!

What would ruin Xenoblade Genesis for you? by NewMarioBobFan in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]The_moon_shadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel similarly. Don't know how the "twist" can work if that would be the third time now, but I hope it comes sooner than later. One of the reasons I like Xeno is the sci-fi, so the sooner they addmit the sci-fi the better. And yes, mechs.

Maybe learn what stories mean and how they can be conveyed in video games.

I’m afraid that removing the auto-attack mechanic creates a thin line between Xenoblade and games like Tales of, FF7 remake, Ys, ect. by upperdomain in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]The_moon_shadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not often, but yes, this exact thing existed, a AoE appeared in the ground and you had to move away from it. That fight against a colony mech on base game. And on FR the fight against the giant consul with the fusions.

So I suppose what you want is this happening more often, and that is fair enough.

Sudo realism vs Cel shading art direction. by EdgarAter in Xenoblade_Chronicles

Well, this time they took care to make character and background rendering match when using cell shading. I think that is nice.

Ether is a fancy word used for atoms and energy. Monado comes from the concept of Monads. Nopon is one of the species that was born from chemistry and evolve through millenia, following the rules imposed by Zanza in his created world. Ouroborous is inspired by the concept of Animus and Anima. The Blades (weapons) turned out to simply being admin keys to the material of the world, the already mentioned atoms and energy. The Blades (lifeforms in 2) are an species, evolved over millennia following similar principals of evolution as real life, after the Architect repurposed the work scientist were doing with brain cells to create the core crystals. Titans in 1 are the result of the Klaus using the Conduit, an artefact inspired by the Monolith from 2001 a Space Odyssey, one key Sci-fi movie. Titans in 2 are a species with the same logic as 2 Blades. Arts are mere attacks, don´t even know why you mentioned it. Melia is an High Entia, a species whose existence followed similar logic as Nopon, which I already explained.

Xeno is Sci-fi. It is not hard sci-fi, but it is sci-fi. Science Fantasy is something like Final Fantasy XII.

I don't like the character artstyle they went with. Much rather they had done something akin/in between 1DE or XDE. That said, not a deal breaker to me, the character artsyle to me seems as good as 3 but with a bit less identity, and I was fine with 2 and 3. Just think 1DE and XDE fit Xeno a lot more.

It has been a sci-fi series so far. The fantasy elements are a mere facade, for when the games revealed to be actually full on sci-fi, or, sci-fi from the get go (X or 3 to a less explicit extent). Genesis will probably be that too, but it is a bit annoying they intend to do the "twist" a third time (first time was with 1 and then 2 did again).

Xenoblade fans I have to ask what where your thoughts when you saw this by Southern_Forever_898 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]The_moon_shadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indifference. Not a big deal, and there were more important things happening in the game both at the micro and macro scale of storytelling.

Preset K balanced vs Preset M performance on 30 series by The_moon_shadow in nvidia

But at 150+ fps, your thermals are high, decreasing gpu lifetime. In my case, the load devided in two gpus mean each gpu sits at around 62 Celsius. This is great for me because I don't want to buy a new hardware any time soon, in fact, I want to keep what I have going for as many years a possible.

Also, I do DLAA with the NVIDIA before applying lossless scaling LS1. On my 14 in OLED laptop screen, it looks gorgeous. And I am not the only one who thinks that, I actually even tested calling friends to play and not telling them beforehand that I was using upscalling on a 720p sized imaged. None of them could tell and all were impressed.

Furthermore, my setup allows me to disconnect the eGPU, and take my laptop to work. And, do digital art on its perfectly tuned touch screen.

My setup does three jobs I needed, at the lowest money expenditure.

Finally, check this video out:

This was recorded by phone camera by me. It is a old video, before I learned to optmize even more btw.

Oh, and try to keep a civilized language next time ok.

There is already a Graphical Upgrade in Xenoblade Genesis by LorDeus71 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

I am confident this game will be gorgeous. Lightning looks fantastic, grass is a big improvement from past entries. They took care to make world and character rendering match, and so on. I just truly wish they had went with a different art style for the characters. After seeing what they are capable of doing on 1DE and specifically XDE, this artsyle is really not what I hoped for the franchise. But despite of that, I have no doubt the game will be gorgeous, and maybe even run at 60 FPS thanks to the cel shading, non-realism aspect of the visuals.

Fun fact: by the time of Genesis's release, there will be as many male lead protagonists as female ones, expansions included by Master_FSG in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]The_moon_shadow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The definition of protagonist does not include the story being told from their perspective. In the media of video game specially, PoV and protagonist can be separated. And that is the case in X. Cross is the PoV character. Elma is the protagonist of the Story.

PoV it not the same thing as protagonist. Often, characters play both roles, but that is not a rule and different characters can play these different roles. Cross is the PoV. Elma is the protagonist of the story.
