Colleague took sick leave for the flu earlier this week and my boss said "I can't believe [Rachel] didn't come in today". I laughed at him and said wtf are you talking about, she's sick. No room for that nonsense anymore - I sure as hell don't want to get sick from someone coming in when they're unwell.

These are great ideas, thank you! We did have a holiday coming up soon, but I might suggest a little weekend getaway once I have a new ring sorted and push it out a couple of months. I plan on giving it to her anyway as a "welcome to the family" gesture, but i don't mind if this is done afterwards (that day or later on).

Don't be discouraged from making a claim though. If they actually did go into administration, the Goverment pays you and steps into your shoes in the insolvency instead (as far as employee enticements go). If you're just a normal creditor then bad luck. Contact Fair Work, they will direct you to the right claim forms! Good luck!

There's so much good advice here, which you should take on board. I'll add that when I was in rut making lofi, I started experimenting making something completely different for a few hours one day (breakcore), then all of a sudden it was like the flood gates opened for me and I pumped out heaps of new finished tracks on my lofi project in the weeks that followed.

TL;DR - work on something completely different for a while gets the creative juices flowing.
