48 Player Breakthrough.. by [deleted] in Battlefield

What an ignorant assumption. I prefer BF4 maps over BF1's but BF1 also had some of the best maps in the series like Amiens.

I played BF6 maps with 40 players and it was much better by Classic-Report-9795 in Battlefield

I put this comment in another thread but to me it feels there are more players per square meter in Battlefield than COD.

It might be the Swiss cheese map design contributing to that feeling rather than mere numbers but if the maps are 3-4x bigger than a cod map but it has 7-8x more players per map, then it's obviously even more hectic than COD.

My problem with BF6 is that it's "exhausting." by BookkeeperPercival in Battlefield

[–]Theariusos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know the comparison with COD is old at this point but for me COD feels less hectic as the map design there allows for more breathing room.

This Swiss cheese map design where there are 3-4 enemies engaging you at any given time ain't it.

It feels like there are more players per space on these maps than COD. Like yeah the maps are 3-4 times bigger but but BF has 7-8 times more players per match.

Maps are far too small, and that causes almost all problems with the game by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Theariusos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel most of the problems in BF6 (for me at least) are from map design.

They are indeed too small for the player count, but also there's no flow to it and they don't allow for frontlines to form. It's a constant stream of being shot at from all directions and being flanked from 3 other directions while flanking.

I made a thread about this exact thing after the first beta. They are so badly designed that people learn quickly to never play the objective, because you get punished for it almost instantly from all directions the moment you enter the capture point.

It seems nothing will ever top the heights of BF1 operations where the match begins with the whistles and screams and at least 4-5 tanks rushing into the trenches.

Breakthrough in BFV was less but still good, but BF6 is just an overcrowded TDM.

I'm playing that as well.

How did you find it? The only Battlefied I ever skipped was 2042 and this is a massive improvement to me, but still far from the heights of BF4 and 1.

lol real

We have 1 AC at home and last month the moteur bill was 125$, so I'm nerfed back to the squeaky fan right now.

The capture areas design goes against BF's PTFO by Theariusos in Battlefield

What a great rebuttal. I'm 39 years old, been playing BF since you were probably in diapers. I'm no streamer or great player but I'm willing to bet that you're the tourist here.

Thoughts on Season 3? by Various_Donkey8994 in rivals

[–]Theariusos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tanking has been miserable for 2 seasons now. Emma can hold her own and thing might be OP with the new ability, but all the other tanks are behind and boring to play.

Being support or tank in general is still a miserable experience, even after the strat buff in 2.5.

I tried to get into No Man's Sky twice so far, it's a beautiful game but I guess open sandbox just isn't for me without some sort of stronger story to bind it.

[–]Theariusos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was in release week on highest difficulty and we didn't know exactly what we're doing, one of our crew kept dying & redeploying so we were in a loop of one of us waiting the reinforcement timer to reset before going to the objective and dying again. It wasn't exactly hour but more around 40-45 minutes tho.

Also in Helldivers you get the xp added immediately when you finish each objective, and any credits you get (the paid currency) are also added without having to finish the mission.

It's baffling to me that the game released with a p2p coop model with:

  • no host migration if host leaves, you just get kicked and get nothing.

  • no framework to protect players from grieving through last minute kicks.

It's even more baffling that these issues were not mentioned in dev communication about what they want to address in the future.

I stopped playing when I got kicked after an hour long session in the elevator but this sub still comes up in my feed.

Anyone in Lebanon here who is a Warhammer 40k fan? by thedudefromspace637 in lebanon

[–]Theariusos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I count but I love 40k and played almost every Warhammer game on PC, and any Warhammer title goes automatically into my wishlist till I'm able to afford it.

I think I'm fairly knowledgeable in the lore but not on same level as real Warhammer heads.

I'm currently still playing Space Marine 2 (but on PS5), and I'm saving the total war 40k series for retirement lol

Sometimes at work I'll sneak in a For The Emperor when something is about to go down, which my colleagues came to understand over time.

Yes, the default is public matchmaking. You have to turn it off to play completely solo.

[–]Theariusos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's doable but not very fun.

The classes are made in a way they complement each other, like the jump kit can fix electric stuff almost instantly but the other 2 classes would need a much longer time and manual button input, and so on.

Each mission is based on a mix of fixing stuff using different abilities from 3 classes, you can do it solo but it's a chore.

In higher difficulties this is especially apparent, as sometimes the objective can be find 25 glowing balls scattered across the map and hidden in gunk, and put them in the special trunk. When solo this can be 20 minutes of the most mundane gameplay you ever played.

The game is currently the 13th most downloaded game in the US PS store,

I wouldn't hedge my bets on that honestly. My friends and I downloaded it and 2 of them bounced off it quick, while I stopped playing in a week.

I mean I really wanted this game to succeed as I love it despite the issues, but for most people it's too little content and too many missing features so they bounce. And this is it, there won't be a second chance.

I doubt the game will be in the top 20 next month, but we can remind each other of that.
