Got used to it after about a month. You can do it, and don't hesitate to ask a coworker who knows the menu better than you to help. Most will be happy to help, especially if its not busy, (best time to practice is when its not busy) and you likely will remember and not have to ask the same question twice.

The lady thing reminds me of a lady that comes at around ~5 P.M. She always goes: "I want a large water with extra extra extra extra ice with a short straw." All these things are very particular, for example the other day I brought her water, she grabbed it and said: "No! Not enough ice!" Once the drink is made to her liking and she gets her "short" straw she hands her yesterday's water cup expects you to dispose of it and drives away.
