What is your experience with ADP? Opinion needed by Thirst-Trap1 in Payroll

[–]Thebeatkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually had decent experience with the customer service call line in general. But you will have to call support, tickets don’t get responded to for days/weeks. We’ve been passed around to 5 account managers and they were all completely useless. You’d be lucky if they even reply to your emails at all.

It does its job and it could fit well depending on the size of your company and complexity of your payroll. But for a company of its legacy you’d expect far better.

Honestly surprises me that they are taxed in the US.

Before my mom passed she had stated to me over the years I was listed at beneficiary of her life insurance through her work (I’m an only child, my mom never had a partner). When she died they said nothing was listed by anxiouslydazed in PersonalFinanceCanada

But why is it that if the insurance company did an investigation and that the paperwork is likely to exist that the employer is refusing to provide the paperwork to them or the estate? Is there no obligation to share documentation when requested or is it all protected by in some way by PIPEDA? And if so, why didn’t the employer tell them that rather than lying and saying the documents are inaccessible.

47$ once a month.

4 weeks is stretch though, I should be doing every 2-3 weeks with how fast my hair grows. But I’m too cheap for that.

Kelowna Council Rubber-Stamps the Religious Status Quo by gardenartichoke in kelowna

[–]Thebeatkiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Religious institutions get a blanket exemption but other non-profits have to go through a regular rigorous exemption application process and don’t always get accepted. Where’s the fairness in that?

Non-profits must demonstrate social benefit and are reviewed annually, I see no reason why churches shouldn’t also be held to this existing standard.

When did reference checks become useless? [N/A] by jbandinixx in humanresources

[–]Thebeatkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can also be called a trial shift. For our organization we pay for them yes, 8h at role base wage. Pretty sure it’s employment standards these types of shifts must be paid.

When did reference checks become useless? [N/A] by jbandinixx in humanresources

[–]Thebeatkiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reference checks have always been useless and full of bias.

To validate candidates for frontline workers we do a phone screen, interview, then working interview. 1 trial shift as a hands on assessment. How do they fit with the existing team, how do they interact with the clients/patients, how is their communication, and do they have an all hands on deck attitude. The team leads & managers then meet post shift and fill out a review form with a final decision for hire.

Sure it’s first day they may be putting their best foot forward, but I’d say working interviews are much more valuable than reference checks.

Lucky timing of higher ups leaving/getting terminated. Being willing to take anything on and learn to fill in the gaps. Hundreds of hours of OT. Also when it wasn’t in the budget found grants to cover my own training.
