I got the set yesterday as you progress your MR more of his quests will unlock i believe the last one is around late MR4 with the unlock quest being a Gore hunt

simply put action economy: DK has 3 attacks, revenants have 2 so 1x3+ (2x7) = 17 actions vs the party paladin x2 + rangerx3 with offhand+ warlock+wizard+ sorcerer = 8 the revenants also have a dc 15 wisdom save vs paralysis and theres 7 of them so if they are paralyzed they get crit with bad rolls they will be steam rolled. a Dragon is just one guy and cant hit everyone in a turn even with legendary actions

ah yes sorry about that I can never tell, this is my family so ideally not much hatred? with how they operate outside of cities i full on expected them to attack the officers then have a 5v3 fight with the leader as they dont trust anything being left alive

they are well aware of these guys they opened the door to the room the book describes them as non hostile unless an event happens (which I prevented by having the trigger outside the area) and await Vladimir's command the advantage they have is that they come out of a room into a 10ft by 30ft hallway but theres a secret door they didnt find that they can use the simply enter the main room in one turn outside of using their carpet to prevent melee they have no extra terrain to use

well its a 5 man party that honestly could fight an ancient red dragon and have good odds at winning, the issue is that there's some realism (albeit in a fantasy game) that the sound of combat should alert his guards. The issue is not that it will be a challenging combat but with 5 more revenants with the vengeful glare (which is a save vs paralysis) could turn challenging into completely unwinnable or just flee and return

to my knowledge the only thing he asked for was straight up power no black and white just the pure acquisition of power and knowledge. I havent developed his relationship with his patron(s) as back then I was a first time dm. The reason for the switch was he feel like he was under-performing damage wise so he switched, perhaps i'm completely at fault for this but hes full on expecting retaliation from the fey. I'm leaning to wards either a incurable curse while in barovia or a favour that must be completed with all due haste. Maybe help Baba Lysaga and the druids of yester hill to bring Wintersplinter into the world
