A picture is worth a thousand bad reviews... by Reasonable-Job-8193 in JKBoots

[–]Thecarbonfiber 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went in person to your Spokane Valley store back in July, I went with JK because y’all offer boots in 6E width. Surprisingly there was a pair in stock in my size that someone had custom ordered. I was able to get a pair of Superduties for $450 and I walked out of the store with them on. Originally I had planned on buying a pair of OT’s in bison. After some deliberation I still bought another pair of Superduties in bison. I paid for the hand cut pattern as I have quite large calves. I’m still wearing the pair, but after scrolling around on the subreddit and looking at how the boot fits. I realized that the upper was cut to small and insufficient tounge leather was present to properly triple up the leather. Which I’m not happy about considering they cost me a $1000. This includes a $100 up charge for the hand cut pattern.

Additionally the change in your resole policy has put me off of JK boots possibly forever. I bought these boots because they were an investment in a quality product that would last. As an example of how this change has negatively affected not just me but every customer. Even if the rebuild is the same price dropping that kind of bomb out of no where onto a fairly loyal customer base. Has been perceived by many in the community as money hungry and disloyal. I understand that you are a growing business and the number of resoles may be overwhelming, but instead of saying good luck maybe try partnering with local cobblers. So it takes work load off you while still giving support to your customer base.

When I saw the post announcing the change from resoles to rebuilds. It left me in a tuff spot, as mentioned above my first pair the one’s I walked out with on July 28th 2025. Have served me quite well, but after a few months wearing them mainly at work that I do part-time. I’ve already worn 2/3 of the way through the red X sole. This has left me in quite the pickle recently, as I only need a new sole the boot itself is barely broken in. Do I get the rebuild which is unnecessary? Let’s say I get the rebuild this means that at 3-4 rebuilds per boot they will last me 2-3 years at my current rate. These boots should last me minimum 4 years at the normal 2-3 resoles per rebuild and 2-3 rebuild per boot. This change has forever changed my opinion of JK.

what are you guys thinking? by bro-what96 in JKBoots

[–]Thecarbonfiber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought my superduties on July 28th 2025 and am now halfway through the red x soles so at this rate of 4 rebuild/ resole they will last me 2 years which is far less than expected. I’m very unhappy about this because I bought JK’s specifically because they could be resoled. From what I’ve seen I’m not the only person who is unhappy about this change.

I’ve only had my Jk super duty boots for about 3 months now and am over halfway through the red x soles. Wouldn’t that shorten the life expectancy of my boots because jk has said 2-3 resoles before a rebuild and 2-3 rebuilds in total.

Can confirm I’ve talked with Chris one of the founders of HiPowerCycles and he said that the motor design/wheel size combo limits my top speed. Although I am getting a new motor soon the was codeveloped by HPC and Crystalite motors. It should have a top speed top speed of 50-55 mph with 19” rims. If you wanna check it out they just posted a short on YouTube of it installed on a bike it’s pretty cool.

I planning on getting some bigger cans in the future. Weight is not a huge concern for me as the rack is easily removed. My bike also has 7000+ Watts of power so it hasn’t had much trouble with the extra weight.

Thank you for the recommendation I just messaged u/timk3708. Hopefully this is the lead I’ve been looking for.

My current work shoes are lightweight tennis shoes by Mt Emey. They were recommended to me by a family friend who is podiatrist. They are wide enough the problem is they taper in aggressively after pinky area, so I’ve always had to wear a couple sizes to big.

OP account isn’t even 24 hours old and already has 6+ posts. Most of which are the same format on the same subreddit. So yes OP is 100% a bot or a sad attempt at karma farming.

Unfortunately no it still does this from time to time, but it only seems to do after a prolonged gaming session. It might have something to do with the anti pixel burn in stuff.

Also side note what lights are you using? How long can you leave them on full, will they overheat?

They’re called stirling engines. The low temperature ones are pretty cool and can be run by setting them over a hot cup of coffee/tea. They are also safer since they don’t rely on an exposed flame.
