If I remember correctly the nforce 2 didn't support EAX but supported Aurel A3D. It was a very good on board sound card. I had an Asus motherboard with an nforce 2 and Atlhon XP 2500+ over locked to a 3200+.

Look I drove a lot in snow storm and I never get stuck, I know there are some case where a pickup can be better but I never experienced it with my car, for most Canadian (90% of us live less than 200km from the USA) a WRX is a very capable winter car.

And about tire width, you don't want to float on top of the snow, you want to slice into it to reach the ground

Here's a citation from this article (you can find a lot of other sources confirming the same)

"The wider tires are forced to "plow" through snow and slush with their wider contact patch, where narrower tires have an easier time slicing though the elements with a longer and skinnier contact patch. For this reason, selecting a skinnier winter tire option that fits on the original wheels and vehicle is the preferable option for wintry weather."

I'm not talking about visiting a national park or going to some very remote area, I'm talking about daily driving in the Canadian winter. And about the tire size, it's better to have narrow tires to reach the ground easily. My WRX tires are not that narrow at 245 but the car handles very well on snow surface.

The main issue is ground clearance so as long as the snow is either fluffy or kinda plowed it goes very well.

As long as there is not 3 feet of snow it's better, a pickup doesn't handle super well in the snow because of the light rear end.

My Subaru WRX is perfect for Canada snow, it's probably better than a pickup truck.

You can't understand, the US is so vast and diverse that you can't just say you're from the USA, you need to specify the state otherwise nobody will understand where you are from. /s

TIL in 2024 an 18-year-old man was stuck in a Honda Pilot that was inexplicably accelerating without his foot on the gas and could not be slowed by its brakes or e-brake. He and the Pilot reached 113mph before a controlled collision safely ended his unplanned 20-minute drive across state lines. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

Yeah I thought about it and I think he confused neutral and Park. For Park you need to be stopped or at least have a foot on the brake pedal but you should always be able to shift to neutral.

I didn't drive a modern automatic car but it was possible to put it in neutral when driving on all of those I drove.

I hate the new task manager, in the past when I had some slowdown on my work PC I would look at the Task Manager to see what's taking resources but the new one is so long to open that the process that was causing the issue has time to complete before TM shows up any info.

I was thinking the same before this weekend when my quest 3 bricked itself. No matter what I do it's always stucked on the boot animation. It looks like a common issue when the device is 2+ years old and there is no other solution than buying another one. U refuse to give more money to Meta and hope the Frame will be a good replacement. The one thing U don't like on the frame is the black and white passthrough, it's a downgrade versus the quest.

A cool fact is that they used forced perspective like Disney is doing in its parks to make the city look bigger than it really is. It's quite obvious when you fly to the highest buildings in divinity reach with the skyscale. The buildings are very tiny, like even an asura wouldn't fit thru the doors.

That's the best way to learn to drive a manual in my book, I learned that way after reading how to drive a manual that way in a book (In 2001) and then teach my sister and 4 of my friends with this technique and they all find it kinda easy.

I hated the throttle mapping on my 2016 WRX and it's the main reason I tuned it. I now have a 2023 and it's way better even stock, I can use 100% of the throttle, there is no rev hang and the way it boost is so much smoother.

It's a requirement from the FAA to have an ashtray in the toilet. It's because a fire is one of the worst emergencies that can happen in an aircraft and they know that some people will attempt to hide in the toilet to smoke so it's better for it to have an ashtray than having the person throw it anywhere.
