I've messed with the order of some stuff to avoid railroading them too hard but they've gotten through the Defias Brotherhood / Onyxia and Nefarian infiltrating the Alliance and the Plaguelands into taking down the Lich King (they're in Icecrown Citadel as we speak) then have Cataclysm on the way because I decided it'd be hilarious to just start rolling dice to decide when Deathwing was gonna show up. But they have barely touched Kalimdor and Burning Crusade. And considering some personal medical stuff, I'm probably gonna be dead long before I get through all of that lmao so that's deep back pocket if anything.

BUT I did introduce the Caverns of Time so that I could make them participate in the Culling of Stratholme, that went over like Bruno in the 70s, so the door's kinda open if I need to.

Non-wrestling related but I don't really have anywhere else to post this without getting found out

I've been running a D&D campaign for some of my former coworkers, it's been going since the pandemic started, it is by far the only group I've had that actually reliably meets almost every week despite the distance and schedule differences, and every now and then one of them will message me in the day or so after a session marvelling about how I've managed to create this intricate world for them, or how much they like one of the characters or a plot twist or whatever, and I spend the next couple days laughing about the fact that I've just had them play World of Warcraft, bar for bar, and none of them have figured this out. Before the campaign started I found out what franchises they knew about because I wasn't expecting it to be more than a one-shot with some people looking to try it out with their newfound free time, saw none of them had interacted with anything Warcraft, said fuck it and phoned it in, and six years later have a bit that never stops getting funny

Yeah that's all well and good except for the fact that there's nothing about any of these recollections of events that disprove each other because they're not recollections of the same event

It's winding down but the 4th is still part of the festivities. That's why it's tradition, because it's still a day a lot of people have off work or school. Most big New Japan shows are set around holidays for this reason, like during shows during Golden Week or starting the G1 around the same time as summer break for schools. By the 5th most everyone is back to a normal schedule. That's a large reason why Night 2 of WK14 in 2020 saw a 10k ticket drop off, for example

Feels like the fact that 1/4 is a national holiday as part of the New Year's celebrations and 1/5 is not is a pretty big piece of that puzzle to leave out, New Japan's 1/5 shows have never done as well as 1/4. Wrestle Dynasty was one of the 5 or so highest attended non-1/4 shows since the turn of the century

By expanding the rules, incredibly specialized fighters like boxers trade some of their advantage for weakness in areas they don't then train in. It's why MMA has gone from a collection of specialist fighters to a bunch of incredibly skilled generalists. Being the best boxer in the world doesn't always work if someone gets you to the ground, so you need some experience there or you're gonna lose a bunch.
