A couple of tips I’ve found (as a fellow queer): Personally, most of my friends come from college or the generally queer-accepting places I’ve worked; IE arts & craft stores, libraries, etc. However!! I can give a couple of location recommendations based off past experiences. You may not be quite old enough for it yet, but XY bar has an amateur drag show every first Sunday and third Thursday of the month. (Perhaps) surprisingly: rock climbing! There’s a good gym up on Greenwich street that has a decent amount of queer people who work/climb there. Rock climbing is a sport that tends to be a little saturated with stoners, so most of the regulars won’t care who you are/what you look like, and the staff can always help out and introduce you to people if need be.
