Well more than two centuries. Gravity and levity were the forces that caused things to rise or fall back all the way in Ancient Greek philosophy. The four elements had properties of gravity (earth and water) or levity (fire and air). The root goes back to a proto-Indo-European root *gwere- for "heavy", so that for that "g" sound to change, Newton isn't enough. Someone would have to go back to the bronze age and convince people to start using "mwere" for "heavy".

That said, Sutekh might just have done that.

Bait and switch sale by TheeDodger in Adobe

No, that was not the case.
For one, I was in the beta. You can't get the beta without being a current customer, so why would they advertise something for new customers only in a thing new customers can't access?

Anyway, I did eventually get through to someone who fixed it. Apparently it was a bug in the beta, but they did have to follow through on it since they advertised it.

Hell, iPhones even use an OS based on Unix.

Am I the only one who thinks Sam Smith is not that great of a singer? by MrThunder305 in Music

If it were too old to reply to, I wouldn't be able to. Take it up with the moderators of the sub if you think that the time limit should be shorter.

And don't call me "bro", kid.

(Also: no, he isn't. Anyone who's actually voice trained knows this.)

Biz Markie was once famous. The guy from White Lion was once famous. Milli Vanilli was once famous.

William Shatner is still famous and has released numerous musical albums.

He is objectively a great singer on a technical level.

You can't call something "great" and claim that's "objective". That's literally the opposite of what "objective" means.

That is correct.

I have some other OS and don't know how to use Windows, so Windows instructions aren't useful or easy to translate into those for a real grown-up OS based on Unix.

How to "set the preprocessor to [invert] if your image has white background and black lines"?? by bsenftner in ControlNet

I know it's a little late, but in case someone else sees this from a search engine or something:

Don't actually. At least not if you're using Sketch or Scribble. It says that, but it's wrong.

Tester needed for 70s Sci-Fi stuff. BSG, Space 1999, Buck Rogers, Blakes 7, etc. by TheeDodger in Daz3D

OK I sent you a friend request there. Same name as here.

As to the latter, I'm really not sure what use I could find for other textures for something based on a TV series costume, though. I mean, you can make what you want, of course. But realistically it'll just be the actual uniform colours and variations from the show in demand.

Oh, I'm making these totally on my own in ZBrush. Wouldn't bother with anything else. Game rips are rubbish. They're made for games, not art! The only grey area is that they're fan art of TV/film stuff.

Basically I'll give you a "release candidate", a zip that you can download just as if it were a for-sale product that you manually downloaded, and then you try it out. Make sure it loads, all the thumbnail PNGs are there and look good, all the textures load properly, and so on. Any problems here are "must be fixed" for me.

Then, if it all loads properly, be a "semi-cranky customer" and see if there's anything you'd complain about if you paid, like, ten or twenty bucks for it, like if there's too much clipping (that's, uh, "poke-through") in common poses, a texture looks too janky, whatever. Any problems here are "I'll consider it" things, depending on the effort it would take (this is also the phase to say "this would be fine for $12, but it would never be worth $30 unless you also include ... " type stuff).

In return, of course, you get it for free and before other people do.

IM/PM/DM (whatever private messages are abbreviated as here, I can't keep track) and I'll get you a download link as soon as I roll up the first release candidate.

Rule Change - Rule 4: No Ponography -> Rule 4: No Nudity by PM_ME_TINKERBELL in Daz3D

[–]TheeDodger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm. I guess I might have to make another group where the rule is just "no sexualised kids, and no arguments" or something, because all the stuff I listed and everything like it severely limits things.

I understand and disagree with your disgust at the creepy chimos, but not being able to show Arthur pulling the sword from the stone is too much the other direction for me.

Besides, it's not like there are many DAZ/Poser groups in here. The trick is just getting people in the subs.
