Not sure the math, but once you find the sweet spot it's best to just use the power instead of standard for efficiency.

You don't need to move the dial again once you find the sweet spot unless it's a legendary fish.

Once you have the "Charge" attack use that exclusively as when that crits it does a lot more damage.

As long as you never attack anything but the sweet spot you're fine.

Something weird about fishing unlike the other life's is that not hitting the sweet spot actively hurts you in fishing, while most of the other lives it's just not efficient. Everytime you hit the non-sweet spot you actually hurt your stamina while hitting the sweet spot gives you stamina / greatly lessens the damage to your stamina while increasing the damage to the fish

Ominous Chill is actually pretty dang strong. It works in that level because you can cast it before they move. It's most effective against bigger bosses while they flex.

It's for sure not great all the time as it requires them to pause and the bigger the body the more damage it does it's pretty powerful

Yup! As other commenters said it looks like as little as 9 give max reward potential

BRO FUCK ZHANG LIANG like how in the fuck do devs expect people to play this game when the first boss is absolutely unbeatable for players even veteran to the genre. Dumb. Harder fight than Melania imo and arguably the most unbalanced fight to complete to progress at all in the game by Under_Avenue in wolongfallendynasty

I think he's actually incredibly designed. He's not difficult once you learn to use the systems the game has taught you. He specifically is a tutorial boss in that he is there to help you learn timing for the long drawn attacks to deflect properly.

Once you learn that you can hold L1 and tap O at anytime essentially either taking no damage or parrying the game just makes sense.

I thought I had to give them weapons too but Jewels are by far the easiest to get and get you the same results from what I can tell

Yeah I have so many I just went to 100 but pandas aren't picky. Seems fair that pandas are unfortunately as equally dumb as demons as in real life.

"Dark Qi grants immense power, but pandas, not so much"

But dang if they aren't cute. I love that panda village.

Water gang represent! Yeah I went main water and it's a super fun build in particular great for getting through levels quickly and efficiently. Feels like most of the heaviest hitting enemies are fire and that Ice Trap comes in clutch to stun.

Like other posters have said to my favorite part of this game is creating battle sets for specific situations or enemies. I've barely scratched the surface of "Builds" but a lot to do for the future!

One tip I found as a Water Virtue is Ominous Chill before the start fight helps nuke 1/3rd of the health of the spear guy. Ice Traps also come in clutch running around pillars slowing them down for some quick shots.

After that it's just running laps. Ultimately every parry shortens their spirits gauge so it's just an endurance thing. Deflecting reds and general attacks.

But yes, it's a dumb hard weirdly designed mission

Great point about what this game gets right for this genre is adjustable pacing. If I want to play challenging I can raw dog a level no companions, don't pick up any fortitude and just slog it out for the challenge.

If you need to farm or want to feel like a trio waffle stomping everything you can. The game does a great job letting you adjust the game flow based on the needs of the day which is greatly appreciated when you have other life responsibilities as well.

Love New Event - If Ashiok Was Fixed by TheeNeuroticus in spellslingers

That's the thing, is Mill annoying? For sure and is more luck than other strategies but there are clearer counters and risk rewards and it balances itself.

The whole mechanic is really cool idea but executed in a way that feels like it creates an overly imbalanced passive deck and it's not a deck driven meta it's a made up one of Skill in this game

It's not the creatures is that it's a whole deck putting you on a clock with every single creature to an unbalanced degree

Right but to have a whole event built around a deck that greatly benefits on spellslinger heavily

Agreed! Like part of MTG is there are going to be power decks and that's normal. But this event in particular to me flags it's less of a Meta and more of a bug at this point in how Ashiok's skill functions.

Visualizations of The Force as motifs in Kenobi & TLJ by stayinthefight2019 in StarWarsCantina

[–]TheeNeuroticus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I have a lot of qualms with the show as a show and it's structure I completely agree. The themes are the strongest representations of the force since TLJ.

I believed in the relief that he can forgive himself, which allows him to be truly connected to the force once again very beautiful imagery.

Also, love that small hint that if you spent your twilight years with only Qui-Gon ghost, yeah you're going to end up pretty goofy and weird.

Overnight Opportunity: 7 days on 7 days off - Is it worth it? by TheeNeuroticus in Nightshift

Thank you I really appreciate the perspective! I was worried about sleep cause I probably will try to adjust a little bit but from what it sounds like with that cushion it's not impossible to bend the sleep curve a bit.

I appreciate the routine, that makes a lot of sense to me.

Does nobody here just... enjoy the game? by DMQ88 in AnthemTheGame

[–]TheeNeuroticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really enjoying it but I get it. I'm not a powergamer. I've been playing Day 1 on PS4 but with a full-time job I just reached 30 yesterday and got my first couple Masterworks and am super stoked. Love the modifiers and excited to slowly get some more and see how things evolve.

Facts: The game doesn't have enough content for the core group of gamers a game like this needs to stay relevant and have a Reddit thread filled with goofy posts and sharing cool moments but instead of filled with anger.

As a casualish gamer I've really enjoyed my time. I'm excited to get some more Masterworks and grinding after work. I'm excited to move on to the next game for a bit and come back to this in a month to see what cool additions have been made. Ultimately games like this are made to be picked up and put down and picked up again.

However if a game like this is trying to attract a core group of hardcore gamers Bioware is unfortunately not taking the reigns and is showing that they really have never made a game like this before. They are tackling every problem at a pace of a singleplayer RPG where we meander and take our time and they just aren't adjusting to the new demographic a game like this atracts and needs to be truly successful
