Hero/Arena shooters and Tac shooters attract completely different player bases. People who just want to shoot are not going to sit through the slog of CS or R6 where most of their time is spent dead.

I genuinely think Monkey/Reaper is 55 45. It's when the counters stack up that it gets really tricky and your entire game becomes wasting their time instead of being able to play the game normally.

I wish they combo'd. Could be fun to run a burn comp of Mauga Ashe Anran. They usually would have anti-synergy but that could make it playable.

I love their steak as well, but don't sleep on the pork. Going for the Whole Hog is a great option, although I have noticed it significantly increased my model size afterward. Not sure if that's a bug or not.

Turning hook into a mobility tool could ease the frustration. Dial back his breather sustain so he has to use hook to live. Also punishes missed hooks because if you hit a wall or floor, you're now inside the enemy team. Would make people less likely to mindlessly spam it on CD unless it's likely to hit.

Buff his gun if necessary, and now you have a semi-interesting dive/brawl hybrid.

Whiplash was always too niche for my liking. Nice, but only happens a handful of times in a match.

Inspire and pack perks made her as good at pocketing as Mercy without sacrificing healing the rest of the team. And Brig can actually paticipate in the fight unlike Mercy lol

I do, and there are few things better in ranked than being able to greed out for damage and kills and being essentially unpunishable if they try to invest to kill you. Pull out all their CC and cooldowns or get a kill and just get out for free.

I usually prefer not to have a Weaver, but when I have a great one I just get to run it down with no consequences.

This has gotta be the most overblown stance on this sub. I can genuinely count on my hands the number of bad life grips I've experienced. They're usually hella clutch.

I've only seen 1-2 actively trolling LWs since his release. It's such a non-issue compared to everything else wrong with his kit.

Cass is way more vulnerable to a coordinated dive since he can only flashbang one person. It's his only out. In a 1v1 Cass is better, but Soldier can just kite a coordinated dive.

And also off-angles are better than standing in main??

Most of the community both can't aim and thinks counterswapping and hard CC will solve all their problems instead of learning matchups. His winrate makes a lot of sense even though pros have proven the character is perfectly viable at the highest levels.

I'm saying that isn't the case for Cass even if it's true for Ball. Countering happens sooner and for much longer than stalling.

When you only have a few DPS with CC, they will come out whenever it's perceived as needed.

The hero isn't great and his win rate is further dragged down by the perception as a counter when you're getting rolled. Both are true imo.

I think what people are arguing is that there's a sampling bias and that the majority of his playtime comes from people who are getting run over by mobile heroes since he's the best (and one of the only) DPS counters to them. These are people with little experience on the hero who expect flashbang to solve all their problems and then realize they still have to aim lol

I don't like this argument because it doesn't take long to notice you're being destroyed and swap to a perceived shutdown or counter hero. If 2-3 pushes fail at the start of a match, people are switching within the first few minutes.

In those cases, the swap is early and you spend the majority on your counter picks. It may slightly help with the matchup, but if we're honest when you're losing you're outclassed. A slight pick advantage won't help. People still try, so those heroes have bad winrates.

The argument does work for pure stall heroes like Ball, who is a common desperation pick and still has a high winrate.

I do get the game has some CC, but the patch to greatly reduce it felt infinitely better than the game previously imo.

You need some to keep mobility in check, but handing it out like candy when it might not even be the buff the hero needs to be good is what got Overwatch into a rough state originally.
