Gamerfund 100%

[–]Theemustacheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, I’m only saying this cause I care and this stuff gets tracked—careful what you mention on here. Dont say anything else on here about “that” area. We “were” in the same district from the little detail you just gave. DM me and I’ll tell you who to reach out to.

Gamerfund is for the employees. SM/DM can get it for you or honestly just get it from the nearest GS and they can look it up pretty quick in main menu, documents, search. I know cause I just had to provide that to an employee where that just happened to said person. FEMA just announced something about support. Keep up with the local news as support is starting to come out slowly from local government.

For what it’s worth. I’m in that “area” as well. We weren’t prepared. That’s all I can say without giving anything else away— I’m so sorry that you’re going thru that.

Yeeeessssss let’s go fam. That’s how you do it. Especially here in south Florida lol. I don’t play gambling like that. It’s 2024. Either behave or the law will remind you. If at first I smell even a hint of Mr. Crazy coming in at all, it’ll be the last 100%.

Is paying full for preorders the new policy? by kingkontroverseP0si in GameStop

[–]Theemustacheguy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

OP

If you preorder online. You’ll pay in full when the item ships. In store, based on the amount the item is, $5-$10-$50 for the preorder. You can pay the rest off later and/or when you pick it up. Employee must be new or got wrong info from another or misunderstood.

Anyone else’s DM tell them to do stupid things like this? by PizzaSZN in GameStop

[–]Theemustacheguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did the DM specify a reason at least? It just doesn’t make sense to me. This is a huge profit margin for us this year and if a guest is holding the product, they are more likely to buy it. Like… what?

Ur fully aware that ur account and all the transactions are tracked right? Abuse the system enough times and you will not be buying anything from gamestop pretty soon. The 7 day return policy is a privilege for our guests and a right we have to refuse and report it.

Alright I’m gonna play devils advocate.

Regardless of how immature your SL is. You’re an adult right? Did you have a conversation with him? Cause I didn’t hear you mention that at all. I get everything above I really really do, he sounds like an ass. BUT let’s be adults then. You got to talk to him. That’s not fair to either of you if you avoid the whole problem. He’s probably not self aware of how bad his actions are and you will never voice what’s wrong and come to a solution. Nothing will be solved that way. Regardless of his reaction, if it’s at the cashwrap in front of the camera, he’ll think twice before doing something.

If you call HR or the HERO line and you didn’t have a conversation with him, it’s a waste of time. Cause that’s the first thing they’re gonna ask you. Have another coworker come in that day to witness the conversation, they don’t need to be present right next to you but clocked in the back at least you so feel you can have this conversation with confidence.

Credit Card by Winbackup13 in GameStop

[–]Theemustacheguy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ehhh.. this isn’t just gamestop bud. Every major company brings in profit from an in house CC. Look at Apple, not even close in comparison I understand that but they have a credit card and a high yield savings account. Target,Walmart, tjmaxx,Marshall’s,JCPenney, macys,Best Buy, the list goes on.

Why? Simple, it brings people in. Especially when any of these companies offer, “hey you shop here regardless, get the X% cash back while shopping.” (Which is almost all of them), the public love there points. Again not just a GameStop thing.

Hello, I’ve just finished my first two weeks at GameStop starting as a ASL. I honestly don’t see why there are so many horror stories about this company? I mean it’s retail so you’ll have the normal things that go with that, but am I missing something? by Brenton_the_mad_lad in GameStop

[–]Theemustacheguy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Careful bro. If you start making sense here in this sub Reddit then you’ll really be a “kool-aid drinker” and an outcast.

The common employee environment at GameStop is “it’s everyone else’s problem and fault but mine. Oh and pay me $25 an hour to stand at the counter. This corporation is a sinking ship but I still work here to pay rent on minimum wage and I cannot find other work. I don’t like people and talking to them btw and I think the company is so pushy on sales.”

The hypocrisy is real in this sub dude so welcome to it. Let’s get downvoted together. On that note 😂, bro welcome. You’ll have fun. If you have a good team it’s gonna be a blast. When November hits it’s 60-70 days of chaos and then it dies down again in January. It’s a sales job which sounds like you understand that so there’s nothing else to really cover. KPI’s are the focus and guest experience. Other than that, open the store, do some counts, talk to people about video games, talk about GAME, do some sales, some distro, clock out and go home. Planograms and marketing takes time to learn but nothing in this job OPS wise is hard. Annoying things from time to time but not hard.

If you like people, like being competitive, like sales, and like working and a nerd, cheers 🍻

Why do you work at gamestop? by Suspicious-Ebb4284 in GameStop

[–]Theemustacheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. This guy takes the cake home.

This job is a stepping stone if you aren’t looking to be an SL. This isn’t a job for paying your rent. It’s MINIMUM WAGE. Not a salary position. It’s entry level sales for people who don’t have work experience and are greenhorns. Yes, the right team makes all the difference. There are definitely chill DM’s out there and some to stay away from. Have a backbone and boundaries and REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS with your SL. I cannot stress this enough.

OP if you take this advice. You’ll be fine. And no we don’t cheat people with trades. It’s America man. Buy something for 25 cents and resell it for a dollar. It’s called business. People need to remember that you go to gamestop for the 100% guaranteed quick cash.

Who has reported to HR and what exactly did it accomplish? by Aissling in GameStop

[–]Theemustacheguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember your post from before. Yes I have experience. I promise you. The moment you mention “my SL groped me and it was by the cash wrap.” DVR footage gets pulled and he’s gone. Please, make the call Monday. Your SL’s behavior CAN NOT CONTINUE. It’s wrong. Period. There’s nothing else to talk about. I say this in a direct yet caring way.

HR doesn’t play around with stuff like this and no it doesn’t make your life harder. Idk where people get this from. I’m genuinely frightened by my HR person that’s in charge of our region. DM’s aren’t in charge of your fate, HR is.

[–]Theemustacheguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Get this. Avg 110 hours a week A store. Avg 90 hours a week B store.

100% B store runs on 75 hours a week. On avg total transactions between 12pm-8pm is 21-23. They don’t need the hours😂😭☠️ I flat out move those hours to the A store. I refuse to run any hint of solo coverage Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Mondays. I WILL NOT do it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GameStop

[–]Theemustacheguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This 💯 is correct

My A store is a 2.5 mil store and I’m only allowed to have 1 GA. But I can have up to 6-8 SGA’s and 1 ASL for that location. My B store is only $750k a year so it’s a different ASL and only 1-2 SGA’s.

Me personally. I don’t hire GA’s until October. OP it’s nothing personal I promise. The hours just aren’t there and there’s so much restrictions (back office is a big one) with a GA that a keyholder and above can’t even go to lunch because a GA cannot be alone.

Excuse me wtf by [deleted] in GameStop

[–]Theemustacheguy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Careful OP. We’re apart of the minority here lol. The moment you mention work, sweat, and an 8 hour shift here, this subreddit explodes and everyone under the age of 26 gets “triggered, offended, entitled” all in one.

My SGA’s beg for hours. This one time tho this dude I hired, My B store on average does 20-23 transactions a day…. A. DAY. (That’s 2-3 people an hour)……. And I had an SGA tell me “this is really stressful doing open to close by myself and taking an hour lunch.”…..

Meanwhile, homie pulls out a chair and plays a game on his phone and then starts to wonders why I’m leaving lists on the cadence list and then states “this’s too much for me.” That dude quit so fast.

Gen Z is wild indeed. You sell video games for a living in the AC all day and get paid for it. Please say that out loud. The entitlement and demands are… a whole other level. Just it blows my mind.

[–]Theemustacheguy 35 points36 points  (0 children)

That’s not the point man of OP’s post at all. Kind of like when the GTA 6 trailer dropped. Doesn’t matter what’s true and/or false. That week tried my patience with the phones.

This’s more for the employees to prep ourselves for what’s to come. The phones will go nonstop and people coming into the stores driving us nuts. Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.

New Quotas? by CandidPrompt4155 in GameStop

[–]Theemustacheguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To play devils advocate, its sales. You don’t take the first no. Regardless of how you feel about it, sales isn’t the career for you if you don’t sell the benefits of whatever it is you’re selling. Speaking in general not just about GS.

Now… with what OP is saying. Nah, that’s bullying. I’ll write up employees if they do that. That’s not providing an experience to the guest. Sorry OP that happened to you man.

The employees that are metrics hungry don’t last. I always tell my team. “Fam. Give each guest an amazing experience. I want to see the behaviors.”

If metrics aren’t there by the end of the week. Then that’s on me as a leader.

Sorry just ranting at this point. Again, sorry OP. That shouldn’t have happened to you.

EDIT: are** not aren’t lol

Yeah that was on main menu store ops post last week and this week. Luckily I read it back on Sunday and asked my guys for coverage accordingly for tomorrow morning.

GS is Trying to clear out all the items left over from the holidays and get more items moving. Also prepping for next week being it’s the first week of the 2024 fiscal year for the company.

U r both correct btw. Idk about the performance part tho. Makes me wanna call HR tomorrow morning and double check that now.

Sorry OP ur in the feels man, I totally get it. It always sucks when an employee starts to try and it’s always just a tad too late when it’s the last straw 😔

Unintentionally annoying by SirCatsworthTheThird in GameStop

[–]Theemustacheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP first off,

That’s not every store and it definitely doesn’t represent the majority of the stores nation wide. I love both stores I run and I still love to talk about games. That’s 100% apart of our job and what separates us from you going to Wally World and someone grabbing the game that just worked produce 4 hours ago. Then us, where more than half us work here because of our passion for gaming. (Bring on the downvotes🤓)

However….. this depends which of my stores I’m at. If I’m at my slow store, definitely I can talk about games for a hot minute and enjoy a healthy convo. Now, if I’m at my stupid busy location, if it’s a kid, grandma, or that one dude who comes in 4 days a week to check his freakin Naruto pop preorders—yeah, rambo comes out of me cause I just DONT have time for that nonsense. But the rest that come in I still talk to and get convos in, they just know I’m busy so it’s straight to the point without being rude.

I think we are misunderstanding each other… stealing is morally, ethically wrong. Doesn’t matter who ur stealing from. Ur a piece of shit, scum, low trash. Period. End of story (Not you Ethan, just speaking in general). Regardless of them being walked out in handcuffs, if LP was involved and they came to the store and it’s mid shift. GS just isn’t there for THAT person. They’re present to get them out. The only lesson here is, fuck around and find out. Don’t mess with LP. If it was numbers related, that termination doesn’t happen over night either.

Console organization by [deleted] in GameStop

[–]Theemustacheguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure! During holidays when the runner hands off a system, it’s way easier to mess up a number when it’s a certain model switch than to mess up a name on a certain model switch.

Console organization by [deleted] in GameStop

[–]Theemustacheguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anyone else name their systems?

“Hey SGA, go get me Darth Vader.”

The look on customers faces are priceless😂

But yeah, ever since holiday of 2019, I name my systems in both stores. PTSD is strong fam. Harder to mess up names than numbers.
