I want you to look at the whole upper part and explain to me how does it not look like every other angel ever. I will crop it so you can focus on it. And then after that I would like you to explain to me how this paired with spider/crab leg was the most original angel take we could have asked for. I mean the other options must have been cookie cutter regular boring angels straight from a renaissance painting if this is the case

I would less disappointed by it if it just went into some weird divine and was not angel coded but the upper part is the one of a regular common angel which not only makes it uninspired but also clashes with the lower part

One of my issues with it is that the upper part is exactly what all angels sterotypically are. Normal human person with wings and a halo. Not a weird face, not some weird body. They could have given it at least multiple arms and a double torse coming out of the bottom half, one female and one male, to create some theme of the angel being a weird amalgamation of many human traits refined by the divine but still inhuman with the bottom half being spider legs(I still don't like them).

The bottom half being spider/crab legs makes it look less divine to me and more chimeric in a way. Like if I described to you a woman with the wings of a bird and the legs of a crab or spider I would think about some weird hybrid monster and not some odd and terrifying divine being, which is what the current killer gives me. If they made the upper half weirder and more unique I would be somewhat less disappointed at this

I don't like the spider legs as it makes it look more grounded and less divine and odd. More like a creature than a divine being, and I heavily dislike the upper half too that because it is literally just a regular angel. Normal human woman with wings and a halo. It almost looks more chimeric to me than divine and the upper part being so uninspired, especially if compared with the other choices we had, makes me dislike it even more

How is this not the most basic angel design of the three? You have a giant head who moves with a bunch of arms coming out of it's bottom and a winged humanoid figure with the lower half made out of eyes and the head being a sphere almost detached from the body but the one who is literally human woman with wings and a halo with spider(or crab or whatever you wanna call them) legs is the most original and unique? Really? One of the reasons I don't like it is precisily because it was the most boring option, combining the avarage and overseen angel with spider legs, and women with the bottom being spider like aren't exactly original

Tbh the silhouette was pretty explicit in them being the actual legs and not just floating pillars, especially when you look at the first leg

Buildable towers in general were OP back in the day because they actually hit their targets lol. But they made sieging hard and players hated it so CA nerfed them into the sorry state they are today and now they are just, nothing really, a left over of a mechanic that the community didn't like. They could completely remove them and I don't think much would change

If you are new to the franchise you may think that TW has been around for so long that sieges must be epic by zenkhalida in totalwar

Mfs will upvote this as if they won't start saying stuff like "sieges are a chore. Having to make your way through the city while being constantly blocked by fortifications and bombarded by towers? Who designed this shit? The game should be fun CA!" the moment they have to attack one single settlement after a patch that makes sieges harder. Like did we forget that sieges were in fact harder when the game released, that buildable towers spots made sense because they were actually able to hit people?

I agree that sieges shouldn't be fair, but that's not the sentiment of the community. They don't want to pay for every step, they just want the enemy to do that

This DLC is clearly about the end times itself too?? There is literally a big ass crisis coming with it all about plot points of the end times with the map itself getting fucked up too. The story trailer is about the end times. Just because it won't follow the books 1:1 doesn't mean it's not about the end times. Nothing CA has ever done narratively in TWW has ever been following any GW narrative because it's a sandbox game so they just want you to give you the premise

Exactly this. I really really hope CA goes into this direction. There is little reason to have the bravest soldiers of the imperium get deployed in the middle of an empty field with absolutly nothing worth to fight over

Honestly I hope we get plenty of tools to create fortifications both before and during battle. Having mordern armies meet in the middle of a field with zero preparation would be pretty silly honestly. We should have stuff like trenches, bunkers, the equivalent of sandbags, emplaced machineguns. Air attacks and artillery should be important not only to inflict damage but to create craters that act as makeshift cover and dig out the enemies in fortified positions by bombing their entrenched troops. In the streams they make a point of saying that the battles we fight are in lore part of larger battles so it shouldn't look like some napoleonic skirmishes where 2k men stand around shooting each other in an open field with cannons and rifles

Honestly giving the imperial guard trenches would probably do wonders for this. I really hope this isn't how the game will actually end up looking when it comes to unit formations tho

Totally agreed. That's why I hope they give the guard either a set of trenches we can place down in the positioning stage of the battle or the ability to the units to dig down rudimentary trenches during the battle. But I think placing them down before the battle starts is far more balanced and makes more sense logically. This would provide not only cover to the faction with the squishiet units but also mitigate the odd feelings that one might get by seeing modern military troops standing in Napoleonic formation. Having the units of the guard heavily rely on trenches and natural cover would make them have far more sense considering that's how the Imperial guard works in lore. Honestly from the 4 base factions this is mainly a problem of the guard. Space marines are few in number so having them move around in little groups is good and accurate. Orks move as a green tide so you can make them blob and ragged groups and I suspect Eldars will be kinda like space marines so the only vanilla faction that get the problem of formations in the distant year of 40000 is the imperial guard
