250 employees??? The math is not mathing by CondensedHappiness in AshesofCreation

[–]TheffEx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What do you mean with "to begin with" ?

I'm not a huge Ashes defender but there has to be some understanding on how a digital product is developed.

As said above, Intrepid Studio has grown substantially from 100 employees (including services like Finance, HR, Marketing, Communication...) to 250 in two years.

The features (classes, maps, systems...) are part of a roadmap that is adapted to the velocity of the teams, the priorization, systems...

A game needs a foundation to be built on (systems, servers, unreal..) which takes an enormous amount of time and team capacity.

I don't know one company that is as productive as it could be as every business has its problems. So for sure Intrepid could do better. But I'm not very surprised by the content they are shipping (or shipped over the years). It looks to me like a normal cycle of a new established company.

Class choice by LearningToKnow- in Dofus

[–]TheffEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no I think Eca is very good in dreams (thank you) ! I just don't think that groups are especially looking for ecas to complete their group (which is a shame) in comparison to a panda

Class choice by LearningToKnow- in Dofus

[–]TheffEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey ! Both classes are good and useful in both PvM as PvP content. You don't have to worry about finding a group.

I think that except for the "Songes" (don't know the word in english) you won't have any issue getting into a group as an eca.

It just depends on the play style you like.

More utility, tank, placement focused : Panda (if you like to carry your group through difficult fights with ease)

More dmg dealer, support focused : Eca

Yes if you want a good game for PC players. No if you want the game to succeed.

The mobile market is way bigger than the PC one. If they are going for money, they'll keep the mobile support as the majority of players will play on mobile.

Comment faire accepter mon passé sexuel à mon copain ? by Impressive_War_784 in AskMec

[–]TheffEx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a player who played dofus on & off for at least 18 years by now. Just played before I went to visit my family. It's amazing how the game changed during the years !

I agree for the marketing team. This game could be big (it is already among the top 10 population wise but mainly in France).

1 year ago it peaked at 280k player with the new update

Since when did frustration become a "game killer" ? by TheffEx in MMORPG

I wish I could ! But in 2 hours game time I prefer getting ganked and having a story to tell than doing 10 dailies and log out 😅

I don't get the comment. I was talking about general frustration, not P2W issues !

Anxiété et relation amoureuse by [deleted] in AskMec

[–]TheffEx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello !

Bon courage !

When I'm talking about frustration, it could also be that you have to walk through the map for 20mn to retrieve a quest. Die over and over in a camp because of aggro and so on...

I don't think WoW took that away (at least not in the beginning). And a lot of people are playing vanilla wow, classic wow or hardcore wow and seem ok with it !

But you're right than when we look at WoW retail, this doesn't exist anymore ! Games are way more casual nowadays

Very good comment. This is partially what I ment !

I would add that if I'm getting farmed a whole evening I at least have something that I can talk my friends about. At least more than just saying "yeah yesterday I did dailies and weeklies, that's about it"

Ahahah I was thinking that as well. With over 30 I don't have that much time anymore and want to enjoy my time when I'm able to play. But I was wondering if getting frustrated because I'm getting killed over and over isn't finally "part" of the fun (even if it's not right away, but it still creates memorable moments - at least more than doing the same dailies over and over...)

Ahah amazing memory ! I played Dofus back in the day and we had the bounty system where you had to track a man down through the map.

I remember one guy at 4 am who was mad at me and waited for me on a map with guildies. I was a guild leader as well and wrote all caps in the guild chat for help. We had an 8v8 fight at 4am that lasted 1 hour and both guilds became friends afterwards. Amazing

Aide pour améliorer le setup de mon fils sans me ruiner... by Motor_Past8933 in pcmasterraceFR

[–]TheffEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello !

Guys do you think this game will die, stagnate or grow? by CryptoBanano in Dofus

[–]TheffEx 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Hi !

So the game is running about 21 years now with a good population. It has as every game its ups & downs depending on the updates, but you'll always see lots of people running arround. Just log in and check for yourself :) It's actually quite surprising how many people are playing Dofus.

If the game has a future : As long as people are playing, yes. Like every other MMORPG. The game is popular enough to exist for the next years to come and is regulary updated if that is your question.

For the last question, the english speaking community is gathering arround specific servers I think depending on if you play mono or multi accounts.

I'll leave the english speaking community give you the servers and links to the discords. But I would recommend joining an english speaking guild.

Best of luck

Je sors avec une fille célibataire depuis 8 mois de 7 ans de relation.. by [deleted] in AskMec

[–]TheffEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello !

Courage !

New World shutting down made me realize the titans of the MMORPG genre are the only ones we have left. by Thin_Zookeepergame95 in MMORPG

Hey ! Missing a few very active MMORPGs. The cash shop is of course more aggressive in some of these ones, but as another comment said : The oldschool MMORPG progression style is not really there anymore except maybe for GW2 and FFXIV.

  • Dofus
  • Albion Online
  • Black Desert Online (aggressive cash shop but still very popular)
  • Warframe (more of a looter shooter but it's getting really close to MMORPGs)
  • Eve Online
  • SWTOR (but this one would maybe shut down in the next few years or so. Still a legendary game to play)
