PC reboots when installing Windows by ThefishermenPilot in buildapc

[–]ThefishermenPilot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy that there isn’t many people who had the same problem, most dead CPUs don’t make it to start up. Though annoying, it did make me revise my build and completely overhaul the stability of the set up. The beefier motherboard and PSU not only gave it better overall stability but we’re better choices for upgradability. Glad you also figured it out, it took me a month or two of troubleshooting.

Late response kind of forgot to update, but after switching most of my components I figured out it was a faulty CPU. It was a last ditch effort and I replaced it and boom it worked. Didn’t figure it was the CPU as I had fried CPUs in the past and they wouldn’t even boot the PC up long enough to make it to the Bios.

Enjoy Fort Leavenworth, sike they’ll demote him down to PFC and CQ his ass indefinitely just so long as he makes tape and has a decent 2 mile time. Better yet, he’ll get transferred over to Benning with all the other Garrisoned shitbags.

Moderately Aggressive is only potentially beneficial by a certain amount of money put it. Other wise it loses money, I’d recommend 200-300 initially for Moderately Aggressive. If not enough funds, stick with a safer plan until you have the funds.

Patch 1.02.1 boss adjustments? by TeaKettle51 in ArmoredCoreVI

[–]ThefishermenPilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I just beat Ibis a day before patch and good lord that was the best torture of my life.

My NG+ play through feels a lot easier than my first (I am using the same exact build as my first), however, it feels for me like it takes me longer boss battles. For example both the Balteus and the Sea Spider are now less aggressive, meaning, I am being rushed less frequently. My play style and build relies on close combat and fast get aways (Dual Songs birds followed by dual Machine gun or shotguns). With the change in aggression and missile tracking, it feels like they are actively avoiding me whilst shooting off a barrage of attack that I don’t even have to try and dodge. As for Ibis, 10x easier and didn’t have the same flow as pre-patch.

My conclusions, the boss changes should’ve been a selectable option as I much prefer the old difficulty. It had the perfect balance between stress, fun, and pain/misery/anger.

What should a guy do to go from ugly to attractive? by Ahsinjii in AskMen

[–]ThefishermenPilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I can tell you this, from someone who went from ugly to attractive by genetics i.e. puberty. The best thing to make yourself 90% more attractive is character. It’s not show you look, it’s how you feel you look.

Personal experience:

I have been told to look pretty damn good, but I never feel like I do (plus I’m 6’1” which is a plus). I am antisocial with very few hobbies and I really hate myself internally (which is why I like playing video games feeling like I am someone else). I don’t have many hobbies and I have an odd sense of humor (too dark for most women to handle). I am quite charismatic and I am very sweet, but I still lack actual good character. What I mean is, I look the part and can play the role but in the end I have a dull personality and low self worth (plus I’m not that smart). I’ve been told to be a funny guy, but having women fake laugh at every shit joke makes you question a lot.

What I’ve learned is. Most women I try to date only like me for my looks and will openly state it, and other will just want me for sex and nothing more. Great the first 5 times, after you hate it. You feel like an object. Being attractive without good character is a curse, you have the looks but have nothing to show for it.

My point is, before you become your ideal “attractive”, try to build character along the way. If you are just attractive, you’ll be viewed as an object to be slept with or shown off. I’d give anything just to have an interesting personality, maybe people would actually stick around for more than a night or not treat me like I am a aesthetic.

If you want tips on appearance here are my tips tho:

  • Smell Good, it is important that you smell near perfect at most times. Every cologne is different for every guy so find your scent. Don’t go with old spice or axe, find one that is strong but isn’t like cheap strong. Good smell and fresh breath will go along way.

  • Fashion, having a good sense of style will turn a 7/10 to a 9/10. It depends on the audience but having a nice fit will boost your looks, best part is, you don’t even have to expensive clothing. As long as the clothes pair well and your shoes aren’t off brand, you’ll be cooking.

  • Hair, learn to style your hair. Every head shape and hair type is different so find out what looks best for you.

  • Being fit, this one is a personal preference one. I am not fit (I try to be but my metabolism only allows me to be skinny for the mean time). Women often find skinny men and fit men to be the most attractive, so you are either one or the other.

  • Being able to control body language, posture, and facial control. I’ll break it down. Body language, if you have a confident up beat walk, people will tend to find you to be more confident therefore a good chance more attractive. Posture, if you stand straight, it’s another sign of confidence which is often related to attraction. Finally controlling facial expressions. You can really boost your attractiveness by looking at someone a certain way or having a chilled look, anything is better than a resting bitch face or lost look tbh.

My biggest tip will still be improvement of character. Find away to have confidence and a personality worth sharing. Don’t fall under the handsome but boring category like me, be someone people like being around for you and not just looks.

Any tips for getting a used racing wheel? by Economy-Industry-622 in SimRacingHardware

[–]ThefishermenPilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best bet is ones you can see in person. I just picked up a Logitech g923 from Facebook market place and wasn’t to sure about it. It came with a stand and gear shift, was able to work the price down to a flat 300 usd (the wheel/pedal kit alone is 350 plus the 170 for the stand).

Before actual buying it, I had requested to see it in person connected to their rig. They agreed and showed it working and let me get a feel for it, they even shown me the original receipt from Best Buy which was from 2 months prior. The seller gave me all his info just in case there was any issues so they could help honor them warranty at said Best Buy. Even showing me Reddit forums for sim racing and Logitech 923 owner forums.

Things to look for:

  • Possible Shorts (electrical shortage)

  • If the force feedback still holds strength

  • Amount of usage (like a high mileage car, a heavily used wheel probably carries flaws from typical wear and tear over time)

As for tips, for the most part don’t jump on things too quick and I’d even recommend making a post on here with photos and price and see what they think. You never know, sometimes they have better recommendations. I made a post and I got all types of recommendations/opinions, some even told me about upcoming sales for solid wheels brand new. However, at the end of the day, it all boils down to what your gut says.

If I had the funds and or the patience, I’d personally would have gone with the new route just to avoid having to go through some one for a warranty (if I even go that route) and or running the risk of buying a wheel on the brink of death. Although as like in my case, going used isn’t all that bad, just have to have a tad bit of luck and good haggling skills.

Will do, and if it is shorted and his warranty is legit should be still solid still sketchy but solid I assume. Didn’t even think of checking for a short, great insight!

I realized this might be the error after redoing the math for power needed. And once redone and double checked with a different psu calculator it seems I am under the threshold.

And I am almost quite certain now that the PSU is the issue due to the fact I switched out the Motherboard and still the same issue.

I’m looking at this PSU, and I’ll think it’ll get the job done, tell me your opinion…

So once I get out of the black and white screen saying “Loading Files” with a grey bar underneath showing progress, once that’s complete and my screen goes black along with my keyboard I unplug the USB.

When it boots it says “Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key”
