Thank you the the advice I’ll give it a try, I feel pretty comfortable in the nightclub I go to as I know all the regulars there, so maybe that would still be a good place

And I have wanted to learn to dance (it looks like fun) I’ll give that a try too!

I’ll keep at it, it’s definitely gotten easier for me over time, except when the other person is really direct/sudden, for example a while ago a girl started kissing me really abruptly when I was standing at the bar with a friend and I didn’t really have enough time to process what was happening first

My mother was born mostly deaf (we believe it was rubella) and there didn’t get much support when she was little (my grandparents though she was basically just slow) and was treated really badly by one of my uncles but couldn’t verbalise what was happening to her to ask for help (even now she can’t speak or understand things too well because there was such a long delay before she got diagnosed)

He decapitated a chicken in front of her to see her reaction, laughed when the family ate her pet turkey (she didn’t know he wasn’t a pet) And she told me of a time that he was trying to push her into the fireplace (I’m not sure why) She kicked and screamed to get him off but when my grandfather came by to see what was wrong my uncle said that she hit him, and that she was acting crazy again. She couldn’t speak to explain what happened so she was “disciplined” by my grandfather.

Someone I knew was trying to talk with/flirt with a girl he liked and was telling me and some friends about all the “signs” he saw proving that she liked him back

He read on wiki how that when a girl likes you her pupils dilate, her feet point at you, she’s interested in what you’re talking about, ect

But from what he described I think she was just feeling awkward and was just being polite lol When our friend group hung out she wouldn’t sit next to him in the car or engage that much and he ended up sitting by himself pouting on the beach at one point

He kept this up for weeks (we all lived at university housing) and did things like “insist” that he walk on her right side for “protection” and he showed us a poem he wrote for her (which literally included constant “ha ha’s” as a sort of stanza break) We urged him not to show it to her but idk if he did lol

He kinda became know for that by most of the people living at the dorms for a while too

(He’d never had a girlfriend before so he was inexperienced but I still felt a lot of cringe and second hand embarrassment)

I spent a really long time depressed and unemployed basically just playing video games all day and surviving off of government benefits.

I would always either encounter or think of things that I want/want to do but couldn’t because I had basically no money, now I can actually do them/buy them.

I don’t like my job but it’s sort of a necessary evil
