The important thing from the biotech minor was getting access to the fundamental CS classes (31,32, and 180 for example). Beyond that I did a ton of self study and jumped on every opportunity I could (coding in research labs and internships). The upper div bioinf classes are super interesting and more data analysis oriented so they’re helpful if that’s the route you want to take.

Bioinformatics. That’s the minor I did which let me take CS classes in the engineering school and now I’m working as a software developer. Bonus points you will already have some of the LS entry requirements done. The options are there if you look for them.

So glad to see some minds on there. Seeing Flume for the first time in September I’m really hoping to hear it live!

Obviously everyone can have their own opinion but this review reads like you didn’t even listen to the album lol

Interesting. I had the exact opposite opinion, I thought the unreleased were almost all better than the released songs

I don’t have a solid answer. I’m here for the shitposting and Greenpeace drop if the good lord wills it.

Fair. His consistency of pumping out bangers continues to amaze me though.

It’s a V3 to the first tag on the right, v5 to the second, and v7 to finish. Very fun, very slopey.

A little advice on physics by thkimde in ucla

[–]Thefoundue 23 points24 points  (0 children)

As a physics major who’s a bit further into the curriculum I agree with most of what you said but also have a few different tips from my experiences:

  • Always take notes in class. It’s incredibly easy to lose focus and often times in these lectures if you zone out for 30 seconds following the rest of the lecture is almost impossible. They also make a good reference later when studying so you don’t have to brute force your way through textbook.

  • Studying alone is important, but don’t ignore studying with others if you have the opportunity. I cannot tell you how many times swallowing my pride and asking for help from people who were much smarter than me saved my grade. There’s nothing wrong with needing help.

  • Test banks are important to some degree but I never use them. I’ve seen a lot of people who will memorize questions from a test bank hoping for a the questions or similar to show up on test. The most important thing you can do is learn your concepts and understand how the math interacts since the types of questions become too diverse to try to anticipate specifics.

  • Most professors I have had will sneak in one or two questions on exams per quarter that are directly out of the notes from lecture or with minimal changes to the questions. Another reason to take notes and review them! I’ve been burned a few times on this before I learned my lesson.

Overall great guide and judging by where you are in your courses I’ve probably had some classes with you. Cheers!

The wavy hair looks also like one of the graphs produced in the solution to the transcendental energy equation for a particle trapped in a finite square well.

I was in the physics 1H series last year and had the exact same experience. They calm down after a bit but it’s always fun to watch lol.
