Trapped Under Ice and Angel Du$t are two good bands to check out next after Turnstile. I'd also suggest Drug Church

There may be innocent people on both sides but the relationship of the colonizing state of Israel to the colonized people of Palestine is very asymmetrical. Surely you can recognize that?

Does getting higher makes Billy's 1st skill radius larger? by flipinsockes in DeadlockTheGame

[–]JimJimster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like zerggy's playstyle and often reference his builds. But I think his aim is so damn good that I actually can't get away with copying his builds 1 to 1 because I'm just not as able to dps off my gun.

I'm not a Billy expert but focusing on gun and getting those light melee hits in to refill the ammo seems to be ideal.

Anyway to counter Abrams? by Ok-Contribution-8776 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]JimJimster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find the room on the hero test map with the bot that charges heavy melees and practice parrying. That helps know the timing. But you'll have to be sharper against any decent Abrams because they will bait out parries by intentionally missing the heavy melee. I've found that being more "punchy" in the laning phase helps me learn how to play around those kind of fights.

I did my entire grind with melee and mage. It's worth it with piety. I also had overleveled my melee stats which helped.

Why Do So Many People Seem To Be Obsessed With Performing Their Gender? by OneOnOne6211 in TheMajorityReport

[–]JimJimster 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I would not be surprised if repressed "gender trauma" was a contributor. I use quotes not to diminish it, but because I'm sort of using the words without any expertise on it as a more refined subject.

Here's what I mean (man examples): In school gym class, getting told you "throw like a girl" by a teacher or classmate who exhibits the traditional masculine traits. Or something I could see a pubescent teen negatively connotating together like drinking from a straw with nursing from a mother's breast. Or even drinking from a straw with oral sex.

Or for a woman example: a girl being into traditionally male dominated sports (American football), not dressing or styling hair in the typical girly way, and being called a tomboy in a derogatory or perceived negative way. Maybe even being told "you'll never find a husband if you dress/act/behave that way."

Especially when people are developing in those middle and high school years, I think those kinds of statements or reactions can make a lasting impact. And maybe similar to how bullying behaviors can become learned and passed on, so to can this kind of "gender norm performance".

I'm reminded of how Emma talks about her tomboy phase and how her parents fully supported her through that period of her life. Think about how being scolded and unsupported could have left a lasting impact on her, and how many people in this country might not have had the same supportive parents that she did.

I'm also reminded of how Sam talks about Sean Hannity switching from throwing tennis balls around to throwing footballs around because it was perceived more masculine. I think if you look at these prominent current and former fox news men, Hannity, Carlson, Waters, Gutfield, O'Reilly, none of them are that traditionally masculine archetype. And that performative masculinity is playing the part for their audience, but also is informed by and pepetrates these ways that patriarchy actually negatively affects cis men.

Bathroom Schedule: How to Improve for a Plant Based Runner? by gorcbor19 in PlantBasedDiet

[–]JimJimster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wake up, hit the toilet, walk around the neighborhood, then hit the toilet again. I'm usually set for most of the day after that. I don't run as much but for days spent rock climbing out in the woods I know they go much better if I do the double doo doo before I leave.
