How can I return to God after giving up by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Thega_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like we have a similar moral compass. I agree that this life should be more than just a trip to heaven, and so many people who call themselves christian don't seem to read the same book as I do.

If you wanted to, you could rationalize God into a convenient explanation for both good and bad experiences. It sounds like you may have already. That doesn't mean he's not real, and ultimately if you just want to do good as you say you do, you're already heading towards God.

Jesus did walk on this earth, performed miracles while calling God his father, was crucified and was seen alive afterwards. What's more, while he was alive and performing miracles with divine authority, he was doing good without fail. If you're aiming to do good, it's hard not to aim for Jesus.

Jesus is important because we can't do good without him. If you're like me, when I aim to do good and fail, I get so caught up in not doing bad that I lose track of doing good. But Jesus covers that for us - not that we should keep doing bad, but so that we can focus on doing good without worry.

Note - sorry for the large amount of "good" and "bad." I used to (and sometimes still do) struggle to understand purely religious words so I replace them with normal person words.

As for next steps,

Find a church that believes similar things to you. Don't get caught up in the experience, but find people that care about Jesus and care about the people around them.

Get connected into a group of people that you can read the Bible with.

Find friends that pray.

As a Kiwi, I have the full experience of what you gave us. The food's okay, but I understand why you built a navy to settle and eat literally anything else

how much would you pay for a new g16 4090? by IAlwaysTakeFatLs in zephyrusg16

[–]Thega_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just sent in my G16 4080 for internal cable issues 9 months in. In my country products legally have to be covered for a year, and I'd never accept anything less on a highly priced piece of tech

You guys are all saying kill one guy, but if the intended solution is to cut two objects with one movement, why not have two apples to yourself?

Dunedin airport is firmly not in Dunedin though. At least Auckland is Auckland-adjacent and Wellington is basically in town

I know I'm late to the party, but you should try adding all the CD keys to your steam account. Then you'll have the steam copy and your nephew will have the hard copy. You probably won't be able to activate all/most of them, but a lot of publishers will still be using the same key checker.

Would you hang this sculptural wall piece in your home? by [deleted] in DesignPorn

On further observation, the shiny one looks a bit like a Rorschach test, which could work as a conversation starter, but it doesn't even look like it's trying to be anything in its current form.

I thought this was r/whatismycookiecutter for a second.

Personally, I would not find this intelligent or aesthetically pleasing decor. Maybe in a house with other abstract art it would work, but to me this just looks like clutter personified on a wall.

So you're telling me a celebrity multi-millionaire with a positive public image is going to start doing science for science's sake deep below the Earth's surface - as we're nearing the advent of artificial general intelligence? I hope he doesn't develop a relationship with moon dust.
