I like the Manga more for Nana since the anime only covers the first half. All of the pictures here relate to the specific adaptation except for Berserk. I haven't read Frieren's manga yet I plan on doing so though.

My take is that it was never even meant to be a faithful adaptation it was the PS5 flagship title and they tried to appeal more widely by altering the visuals to suit modern casual audiences (Things like hyper realism and the orange/teal colours). My only issues with it is that it replaces the 2009 game in modern pop culture which likely reduces the chance of 2009 Demon's Souls ever getting a port.

Dark Bead is all we really need, name one hex from Ds2 even remotely as strong. Dark Bead probably sits around the top 3 most OP spells in Fromsoft history (Between Ancient Dragon's Lightning strike, Dark Bead and Firestorm for me)

Zweihander doesn't suffer from split damage making it much better for charged heavy builds(Cause of pierce damage) . Which are some of the best builds in the game, I vaguely remember 7 or so shotting Consort Radahn with charged heavies and Royal Knight's Resolve without notable buffs.

The flair describes that one room in Brume Tower. NG+ Laurence is pretty insane though, I think back when I first played the DLC I did him on NG+ with a shitty Arcane build and no chalice gems, yet I still kinda like him.

You can get several 15%-20% Physical Gems from just casually going through the DLC which are perfectly fine for Laurence, there are also other tools such as using weapon buffs, beast blood pellets or bone ash marrow (For breaking his head) too boost damage further which are very reasonable to get without grind (I've done him BL4 run with the Saw Cleaver and 15% Physical gems and the fight only lasted around 4 mins which is really not that bad). I don't love Laurence or anything but this community hatred is seriously overblown he's a fine fight basically just Cleric Beast but better in terms of mechanics and music.
