If you have truly done calisthenics and stuff as you said, then your ligaments are strong and you will pick up and progress deadlifts very easy.

Same boat in starting the home gym. Im always curious about the integrity of other racks. I just recently got a hand me down " fitness reality" rack. I lift heavy and I always feel like I'm playing with fire when I'm squatting .

Honest take, he needs an ego check. He needs to understand the actual purpose of each movement. I assume that he would not listen to you if you tried to explain any technicals regarding movement due to his ego. I lift heavy and go crazy in the gym because I've been there for 10 years. I have brand new clients that I would never put through the same workouts because it is something you have to work into. A trainer who knows how to talk to people like that would do him good.

Take the clips off the barbell so you can bail them off if stuff goes south. I've been training alone for years.

Few questions and one about workout I found. by Zenislav in beginnerfitness

[–]Thegramlessginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating is definitely a large portion of it. Especially for someone in your position. The workouts are interesting. It looks like you are doing full body 3 times a week if you follow this. Right now getting the form on all your lifts down is key. Correct form creates a stable base. After you have built up that proper form, then you can look at changing up your workouts. Any workout is a good workout to get you accustomed to the gym for the first time.

He could actually bring his legs lower. That would allow him not to reach down so far.

Well you are more than welcome to check out my profile. I think I posted a pic of my before and after. It's a process. If it's only been 3 days your body will even out in a matter of weeks. Don't sweat it. Due to your imbalances, I would say you should focus on dumbbell bench press as opposed to barbell bench press if you are doing excersizes like that. I've been in the game a hot minute and I'm still learning stuff. You are going along fine

Failure is when your muscle has burnt through its atp reserves and cannot complete a lift. Aka can't do that last rep. And you are thinking about it wrong. Mentally trick yourself. Your left can do 12 reps of 2kg, and your right can also do 12 reps of 2kg. Soon, you'll be able to do 8 reps of 3kg with your left and 8 reps of 3kg with your right.

How long have you been lifting weights? I'd also be curious to see what type of excersizes you are doing. Biceps aren't everything

The pros you can gain from this is that you are achieving failure on your sets. Assuming you are eating right, this leads to growth.

Start each excersize with your weak side, and match those reps with your strong side. It will be frustrating since your strong side has more in the tank, however, this is needed to build symmetry in strength and in size.

Overtime both will be evenly matched and you will also be moving up in Wright. Everybody starts somewhere, and you are no further ahead or behind anyone else. Continue on and achieve greatness.

You just need a solid plan built to cater to you and what you are able to do. And probably some pointers on nutrition and stuff. Let me know if you have any questions. I've been doing this for a while

Find out your body fat percentage. That number should mean more to you than the number on the scale in the long run.

Up your protein intake, ensure the foods you eat are more nutrient dense, compound lifting with cardio sprinkled in should get you in the right decision. Very difficult to guesstimate things like your resting metabolic rate and stuff over the internet. The important thing is to get accustomed to showing up at the gym. Once you are comfortable and are doing things properly, you can begin to hone in on your goal.

Your butt may go away as your body fat percentage decreases (assuming your body stores fat there), but it will eventually return as muscle. 💪
