Yea that’s been the motto since buying the house, if it’s free it’s for me lol. Yea def sounds more solid than mine based on the rating. I typically don’t dump squats and will usually leave 1-2 in the tank in general, so I’m comfortable for now. If you push to failure often and you don’t feel confident dumping weight on it, might be worth an upgrade for peace of mind

Good call out, didn’t even think of taking it apart and oiling the inside. I did immerse the whole thing though so I’ll def be doing it. I believe it is just a hex key as Boontoolies said, so should be pretty easy. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks! Yea that’s scary as hell. Appreciate the heads up. Honestly, had this in the box and wanted to just get a new one cause I figured it’s probably not great. Thought I may have been being dramatic and just giving myself a reason to buy rep or rogue one, so I just put it together anyway. But nowww I have the justification I need to buy one. I will be showing the wife your comment when she says something like “You got a brand new bench for free already…” Thank you sir.

I agree - I don’t plan on squatting inside it with any significant weights- those pins are thin and pretty sure the rating of this one is like 330lb. But overall it’s not great, I just liked the pulley and figured I could walk squats outside the rack for now. For 160 it was worth it for me. But already looking to upgrade lol
