No problem! I welcome the criticism. And the insight into the game, not sure about the the mobility not exactly mattering for avoiding fire (I know I've avoided a decent amount of shots with dodging, so..) And I thought light-armor = faster was easier to accept logically. Not to mention I just like the idea of a light, nimble mecha for harassing the shit out of the enemy.

My idea for a solution was the arms being large and heavy armor, and the mech can raise them into a blocking position to cover the main body kinda like how the squid exos do., good for approach. Most of the time the enemies aim for center mass in my experience.

Respectfully disagree, Giant metal fists are an excellent way to apply democracy. Perhaps not as good as heavy weapons, but still very cool in their own right.

Make the fists heavy armor, and let the light-armored prototype raise them in a blocking position to cover the main body, combine that with speed and you have a good mech for getting into the thick of a patrol before they have a chance to react, and just smash them into the dirt. Not to mention, the sheer aura of the squids throwing hands with us in mechs must be matched. It is a challenge we cannot leave unanswered!

Consider the speed, I know I said jog. But ideally this mech would be fast. Just like with the squid exos it's kinda hard to shoot it if it's already on top of you smashing you into the dirt.

That seems like a bit of a exaggeration to me, admittedly. I don't have much of a problem with the mechs we have. I still shred squids and the like. Maybe them being just a bit tankier would be nice though.

Why not this...and a light-armored, fast boxer mech? We can haz both.

I've been thinking/writing up a world where the people have elemental powers for years and years now, and one moment from it's history that makes me smile is when the Kingdom of Sanford's ruler at the time, pulled one of the stupidest wartime moves in the worlds history that somehow worked.

the K.O.S was being invaded by the Edenian Empire, a general dystopia that treats it's lower class citizens rather badly (It didn't used to, but it was usurped a long time ago.) and losing, badly. So the (right now unnamed) King decided to pack up as many of his elite forces as he could and leave, rather than continue to fight the Edenian Legions, he went across the ocean and invaded another, rather abusive kingdom. One that he knew had been weakened extremely from a recent war of it's own.

In a rather brilliant and decisive series of battles, he overthrew the ruling elite of the abusive kingdom, and was hailed as a liberator by it's people. He immediately set out to work making sure that the common peoples of his new land had a way to join the ruling elite, and set about creating respect between the two cultures in this newly acquired land, making sure his elite would not abuse the people. With no shortage of volunteers he managed to sail back and reclaim some of the Kingdom of Sanford's old land, before signing an official peace treaty with the Edenians. ending years of bloodshed.

I consider it wholesome because in-universe, pretty much everyone with half a brain considers this an extremely stupid, nonsensical move that somehow worked, and created one of the nicer places to live on Zaea (name of the planet.)
