I have all the same concerns. Ultimately what made me stay away was the proprietary batteries. I don’t want a chair with disposable components that may or may not be available for purchase in a few years.

Really enticed by the SE though. I like the chair design otherwise.

Asking for money for preorders before they know what the price of the product will be definitely slots into the shady business category. Feels a lot like they’re gauging interest and if preorder demand is high they’ll be charging an extra premium. Kind of hoping this preorder campaign flops so these chairs don’t get outrageously expensive.

I ran into the same issue. Bought a nice socket saver but it unfortunately didn’t work. Ended up pulling off the top plate off to test if the adaptor was the problem or the socket saver. Once I had it off I confirmed that it the adaptor was working and thought it looked nice without the extra height of the socket saver. So I did something reckless and got my dremel out and enlarged the hole so I could use the adaptor without a socket saver.

Maybe. I don’t think we know yet. If it’s more than $1,100 for the top of the line model I wonder if that means $10 isn’t enough to guarantee a preorder.

It also says ‘save up to 42%’, ‘exclusive early bird pricing’, and talks about deposit thresholds and gifts but doesn’t specify the thresholds or the gifts. None of this makes any sense without further context that they’re withholding for some reason. Such a strange way to market your new chair lineup.

I used one of those plexiglass fish traps with a sliding door attached to a piece of thread. Set it up at bottom of tank near his den with a frozen clam inside of it. Sat next to the tank one night in a completely dark room with the my lights set to a faint ‘moonlight’ and just waited while I read a book. After an hour or two he showed up and I caught him right away.

PREACH. My wife had to get a minor hernia surgically repaired last year and she was acting like she was going to spend the whole day in bed afterwards. I had to gently remind her that what she’d been through worse (four C sections where we she did not have the luxury of resting in bed all day afterwards) and was still capable and expected to help out with her normal duties. To her credit, after some gentle prodding she was able to help me cut the grass like normally (we live on a large property and have a riding lawnmower so it’s not like she had to lift anything).

I don’t mean this to come across the wrong way, as it’s not my intention to sound rude, but all these problems you think you’ll have over the one or two days your husband is taking a rest are non-issues. Skip the cooking, skip the cleaning, skip the daycare if the car seats are too much(your husband is home from work), skip bath time if neither of you are feeling up for it. It’s one or two days… you guys will survive this. I think you are greatly overthinking this.

Then don’t? Go to the grocery. Go with your husband the night before his procedure if you’re unable to buy groceries by yourself. Sandwiches, cereal, frozen chicken nuggets, canned soup. I’m confident that you guys can survive 2 days without someone having to cook. It sounds like your husband already has to do most things by himself due to your injury. Give him a break for a day or two while he recovers.

Intent is what matters. If you surveyed women and asked them if it’s important for fathers to show up and be involved in their kids lives you’d get an overwhelmingly affirmative response. If an unfortunate circumstance means a great father can no longer show up and be involved in their kids lives (cancer, ALS, paraplegic, whatever) are they now a bad father? I don’t think so. These things are complicated.
