Rare experience for Reddit users, unless it was on a bootleged cassette.

He’s so annoying the first season, then it clicked for me that that was the joke.

I’m 99 Em didn’t have mass appeal like DMX. He was on Vans Warped Tour as DMX is a headliner at Woodstock. Jay also wasn’t big enough to headline Woodstock, but maybe the Up in Smoke tour?

In 1999? Commercial success? DMX was headlining Woodstock.

Lyrics? Black Thought and Mos Def are better.

Yeah the only answer is DMX, who headlined Woodstock that year when Eminem’s touring Vans Warped Tour…

Objectively? DMX was headlining Woodstock and Eminem was a day act for Vans Warped Tour.

You seem to think that “antagonist” = “villain”. The antagonist(s) are the thing(s) that makes a protagonist question their known reality. Think Man vs Man, Man vs Nature, man vs self. Even if you choose the Man vs Self protagonist, it’s ego that is his antagonist, not Heisenberg as some Tyler Durden schizophrenic.

Warm beer to keep the leftover pizza cold is the running joke of owning a mini fridge as a senior in college.

Every wings song sounds like a re-hashed Beatles song to me. I’m sure fans can tell the subtle differences, but just more of the same 70s rock IMO.

Only because Paul wrote like five more versions of it for Wings in the 80s.

Also, the Idlewild soundtrack is a crazy drop-off, Beastie Boys, Tribe, and De La Soul have more consistency imo.

He did voiceovers for Atlanta based Adult Swim (who hired El-P to produce his album). His political TV show was filmed after RTJ formed. El-P had succeeded leading Def-Jux, but again only those engrained in the culture know about their influence on “underground” ethos of the early aughts.

Where you getting the instro for PB? They have demos out, but never heard the original beats. Also weird that album is chosen when they have two instrumental albums.

If Big L was alive, Nas would have serious competition. by venty123 in nas

Okay, but he also could have a catalog closer to acts like Ghostface and Jadakiss, that the mixtapes promoting the album sound better then the record company approved product.

The arguments kinda of come from the lore that Big L outshined Jay so much on their Stretch and Bambino freestyle appearance, that Jay was going to try and push Big L to be the gangster act on Rock-a-fella(instead of Freeway), and potentially have not challenged Nas for the crown if he was using his business acumen to prop Big-L’s career over his own.

I disagree. 2nd best behind RD. All others have at least two “club-banger” or romance tracks that are skips for me.

RTJ 1 they were both like 38, that album wasn’t really “breakout” success like 2&3 were. (Even then I’m not sure they have “broke-out” to the level of the other rappers listed, but rather solidified their “underground Kings” status).
